Hey R,
Hope the study's going well!
I recently put a formula in mine that calculates the number of days between 'now' (whenever now is) and payday, then divides my remaining money by that number, giving me a guide as to how much I have to spend each day. Its been a godsend! I love my finance spreadsheet. I carry it on my USB key on my keyring and look at it several times each dayWhat a nerd I am!

Studying going well thanks TJ
And I do the same! I love my money spreadsheet! I currently email it back and forth from work and home but a USB is a better idea and I do have a little one somewhere I can use.
I am over halfway through making notes on all the areas of the syllabus, today's area is project management, its a bit repetitive but has to be learnt!
Made myself some nice pancake for brekky using leftovers in the fridge, just on my lunch break now. Going to try and watch the end of downton abbey online as I fell asleep through it!!!
Then I have one more larger chapter to complete for today, go for a run possibly and then set myself some exam questions.
Tomorrow im treating myself to horseriding as usual but have that timetabled in
Hopefully another NSD todaySantander 0% £1,529.94

Hi LondonGirl
Just wanted to say I've enjoyed reading your diary and can so relate to your experiences. I'm not actually in debt but I do struggle with keeping a reign on the finances whilst having a London Lifestyle! It's just impossible not to spend money sometimes especially with friends like mine who given half a chance will order an expensive bottle of wine or the most expensive thing on the menu when we're splitting the bill. Drives me insane! It's difficult to say anything and I'd rather not have the reputation as the skinflint so I usaually end up bailing out on doing things with them. I do have a couple of other friends who don't like unneccessary spending either so at least I can relax when I go out with them.
I'm a firm believer in the power of the spreadsheet when it comes to managing finances. Mine is a work of art! I'd be lost without it. It gets updated and tweaked daily!
Keep up the good work with budgeting and studyting! My brother got his CIMA recently so I know there's a lot of studying involved.0 -
Just wanted to say I'm well impressed with all this orderly studying! I am having one of those days when I start things and...? I did the laundry, started to peg it on the line and started watching a hedgehog. Nearly set fire to the ironing board in the process.
What different lives we all lead.
Erme, if you haven't been into your ECDL for a while, it may have assumed you're not doing it any more and denied access? Or, of course, it could be having an off day.
LondonGirl, I'm very sorry to hear about your colleagues. What a shock for all concerned.Miggy

If you are comfortable doing so and want to protect the data on the usb key in case you lose it, look into something called TrueCrypt. Someone at work told me about it yesterday, I haven't looked into it myself yet but plan to. I'd hate to lose the key and have someone be able to see everything on there!LondonGirl252 wrote: »I am over halfway through making notes on all the areas of the syllabus, today's area is project management, its a bit repetitive but has to be learnt!

Thanks for reading and posting!
You and I have similar friends, must be the London thing! I do bail out more often now too which I hate but it must be done otherwise I'll end up going back to where I started!
Thank you and big well done to your brother, I can't wait for the day to come when I get mine, its been a long hard slog. Hopefully less than a year to go now!Santander 0% £1,529.94
