Oh poor you. Its an awful realisation but I hope and sure she will be well cared for and have a peaceful time. Being in hospital can be very stressful so the home would be a more comfortable environment xx

Hey guys,
Thanks so much for your thoughtful posts, it really does mean a lot.
I drove up on Sunday and worked from Mum and Dads house monday so I could visit her in the afternoon, Mum had said she was having good and bad days.... a good day being that they are able to hoist her out of bed to have a bath and cup of tea in the lounge. Unfortunatley she was having a bad day on Monday and it was clear she was in a lot of pain and although she did recognise me she wasn't really able to take in anything I said or to talk back. It was so sad, it's such an awful thing to see. I'll go again when I'm up in a couple of weeks time.
It is a nice home though and the staff are pleasant so she is getting the right care and attention which is a comfort.
I have been feeling quite down with all of this but M has been a good comfort, it is so nice to go home to him and have a cuddle when things are !!!!py.
Tonight is the work xmas party so I am looking forward to letting my hair down a bit and I have a hotel booked through work so i dont need to worry about getting the last train home.
Hope you are all well and enjoying the festive season

Hi all
Sorry for being absent i havent forgotten about you i promise!
Firstly, a belated... Merry Christmas!! Hope you all had a wonderful day with friends and or family
Been so long since I posted so i'll fill you on the xmas party and work and then xmas and the hols!
Xmas party was great, as we are a small company we find a night hosted by a large venue where companies like us all buy tables and party together, we had a nice-ish 3 course meal, dodgems (the bruises have only just faded) and a free bar. So a great night falling into bed at 3am and a sterling hangover the next day including an intereting breakfast at the hotel with our CEO who was still drunk and ordered a chilli omelette which was so hot he poured water over his head at the table!!!
Work ended well, in the last week our boss (same CEO as above) took the 3 of us (4 including him) to the OXO tower restaurant for lunch to thank us for our work. OMG the food was DELISH! We had 5 courses and and I full to burst by the end (and slightly drunk).
The next day I took the two girls in my team to the turkish restaurant near the office for their xmas lunch and the food there was delish too, we indulged in a bottle of prosecco but regretted that in the afternoon!!
On my last day in the office we had ANOTHER lunch with the project team which includes a brilliantly fun lady, S, who works at home 95% of the time so i dont get to see her much but I like her a lot. We had a great lunch, the Ops director very kindly picked up the bill and while the rest decided to go back to the office, S and I decided to have our "meetings" together that afternoon in the bar.... very naughty but we did talk about work the whole time and I'm sure we came up with some good ideas... just wish I could remember them!
So, my xmas hols began well, I had a couple of chilled days at home with the boy squeezing in a trip to the stables. Then we packed up and headed for our mini break in the Lake District.
We obvs expected it to be wet after all the flooding poor Cumbria has had but I have never seen rain like it! You only needed to step a toe outside of the hotel to be completely drenched so all our ideas of long walks stayed as ideas as we sampled the local ales/wines/gin/prosecco and delicious food on offer - if anyone fancies a holiday oop north i really recommend Bowness-on-Windermere lovely town with lots of character and great local pubs with friendly staff and awesome food. Anyway we weren't dterred and loved our little trip and I think the rest did us good!
On the way back down south we headed to my parents and stayed the night with them, we had a few hours with my brothers and their wives/fiance and their kids (NOISY) followed by drinks (neeeded) in the local with old old family friends (the kind who have the stories to indulge to my boyfriends along the lines of finding me repeatedly in the sand pit in their garden having crawled under the fence and taken all my clothes off aged 5 - it was a phase alright?!)
The next morning Mum took me to see Grandma while M stayed home with Dad pouring over the family tree (I owed M some serious brownie points after this). Mum had sent some better news of Grandma recently saying they'd managed to get her out of bed for a few hours each morning and the day I saw her was her worst. So I felt a bit more optimistic going to see her this time. Unfortunatley she was having another bad day and was in bed, she was slightly more talkative than before but she tires really quickly. Next time I go i need to have to topics to ramble on about ready in my head as I struggle to think of things to talk about when I'm a bit shocked at how she looks. Next planned trip home is 30th Jan for my other Grans birthday so I will have another visit then hopefully and be more prepared.
After getting back from Mum and Dads we had a Christmas Eve at home which was nice, we went for a lovely walk around a local lake - 5 miles no less. Really enjoyed it and the weather was nice. Christmas morning in our new flat was lovely we opened pressies - M bought me a beautiful ring (NOT that kind) from Swarovski and a stocking full of treats and bath bits and a wick bobble hat. He loved his pressies - a 3D globe puzzle, a monkey dressing gown and some other bits n pieces.
Then we drove down to the coast to his Mums place, picked them up and went to his Grannys where his Dad and his family (they live in USA usually) were staying. The 9 of us had a lovely xmas lunch lots more pressies and a nice afternoon, we drove back early evening.
OH I FORGOT how could I forget!! M's brothers wife gave birth on the 2nd!!!! They had a beautiful baby girl and we met her xmas morning on the way to Matts Mums we both had cuddles, she is so beautiful! Best xmas present ever for those two? I think so
On boxing day M and I spent the day at home and re-created christmas day, we cooked our first turkey with all the trimmings and even if i do say so myself it was lush!!!!
Yesterday we spent the day with our mates who live locally we took their Vizla dog (1 year old a so freaking cute for a long walk in the woods then settled down to a "leftover" roast dinner (I swear she cooked most of it from scratch is was so delish!) and Monopoly - I lost, M won. A really nice day and we've made plans to do the same on NYE where we will stay at theres so we can both drink
M and I had a lovely day today, I got up a went for a 5k run - I say run... /I walked a lot of it my fitness is so bad! then we took our bikes to the park and bashed out 9 miles with a sandwich break in the middle! We slept all afternoon and now I'm cooking risotto from lefotver turkey with a glass of red!
That about sums up the last few weeks so I'll start a new post shortly with my goals for the new year!

Blimey that was a post and a half, well done if you read it all!!!
SO, last the 3 weeks as you can probably tell weren't exactly slimming world friendly and needless to say I have put on weight, yesterday I felt so unwell and my stomach was HUGE so bloated from excessive eating that it spurred me on to set my alarm and get out for a run this morning.
So NYE resolution no1 is not to "just"lose weight to reach my goal weight but to have abody I am happy with whatever size that may be, definitley smaller than what I have now but it needs to be more fit, toned and athletic.
Next, horse-riding. As you know recently I have started riding again locally to me and been loving it. I know they offer hacking (riding outdoors on bridlepaths or in parks) but you go by yourself. This may not seem a huge thing but in the 18 years I have ridden I have never hacked out alone! So, i spoke to C who runs the yard and said I'd love to hack out the horse I've been riding and she said I'd be absolutley fine and advised I wait till Spring then go out with the girls at the yard once who will show me the riding routes permitted in the park and then I'll be off! So, NYe resolution no2 is so hack out alone in the park and bl00dy well enjoy it and not be nervous!!
Thirdly is work. I've been in my job a year now and it's been a good year, I've learnt lots but I know I can do so much more than just my BAU work so my NYE resolution no3 is to spend my working hours as well as possible improving things for my team and doing the best job I can.
OH and M and I have decided to do dry january. No biggie. Absolutley fine, I don't really drink that much.
At all really, I doubt I'll notice it.
WINE? whats wine? Sorry not for me.
AAAARRRRGGGHHHHH CAN I DO THIS?!?!?!?!
