  • Hi all,

Been a few days since I posted... niece came out of hospital the same day she is recovering from a chest infection.

Grandma isn't doing too well but she is less confused the hospital have said she can't go back to the care home but she will need to go to a full nursing home now, it's so sad to think she's only going to get worse from now on, such a horrible disease.

Weekend and days off were nice, i got in some great horse riding, had a night out in London, and did some shopping! M was working most of it so didn't see him too much. I did try to cook us a nice meal Saturday night and chose stir fry as one of his faves, however i thought I'd use chinese 5 spice and holy moly it was DISGUSTING! The whole thing tasted of sambuca! The whole lot went into the bin and we went to the chippy!

SW is going OK, I'm still not on track with getting under 15 syns a day so not expecting to have lost weight this week but I have done better than last week so hopefully next week I'll have it nailed! I just enjoy a glass of wine after work a little too much!

I did buy a bike! M wasn't impressed at the second hand ones and said they were too much for a really bad make, so we went down and I got a new one which was reduced from £429 to £249 and I am using Mum and Dads xmas money present towards it.

Last night I made SW chicken nuggets with syn free chips and backed beans which was yummy!

Tonight I think I'm attempting stir fry again but without the chinese 5 spice!

Working from home tomorrow which will be nice, breaks the week up perfectly, planning to get a good hour on xbox dance game in over lunch.

  • Hi all,

Had a good day WFH yesterday I do love being able to have a lie in and work a bit more relaxed for a day and M finished work nice and early so we got to spend lots of time together.

Walked in as usual this morning so thats another tube trip saved, hoping that next week my shins will have recovered and I can add in a couple of evening runs.

I did my weekly SW weight in this morning, I lost 2kgs so I am delighted with that!

On Tuesday night I made leek mac and cheese off the SW website which was delish, last night was just stir fry. I forgot to plan anything for tonight so we'll prob just buy a couple of chicken breasts on the way home and I'll cook those with some veggies.

Tomorrow I'm making pork with boston baked beans.

It's someones birthday in the office today so I have doughnuts and cookies to avoid.

  • Hi guys,

Been awol for a couple of days but been doing OK.

niece is much better now - thank you!

Grandma is still up and down, they have decided she can't go back to the lovely car home she was in as she needs a nursing home now her condition has deteriorated. Mum has found one that can take her and she is due to be moved tomorrow so i will see her at xmas as Mum advised not to go up to visit her last weekend as she was too confused and wasn't opening her eyes much.

Happy 1 Dec everyone, M and I were v excited to open our advent calendars this morning and we have had xmas songs on in the office to get in the mood which has been nice.

Today is the 1st day in our temporary office, it is OK naturally nothing worked when we got here though we can now access files but we can't access our accounting software - which is kinda key to close month end and provide reporting. Anyhoo we will roll with the punches and will hoepfully catch up once our IT genius has fixed us up.

New place is frustratingly even further from the train so that is a pain but I will have to suck it up and maybe get the train after.

I am WFH tomorrow which I am looking forward to. I have the 1971 version of Willy Wonka on DVD to watch on repeat - my fave film EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is M's birthday on Saturday so I am planning to get him a cake - i might get a plain choc one and ice it myself so that I know it will be edible! I am going to make him a pancakes brekkie and get him lots of treats for the weekend, i hope he likes his pressies, i got him a Northface Gillet for the winter and the Starwars xbox game - which he asked for.

No idea what to get him for xmas!

I managed to get a bunch of xmas pressies done the other day and I have some good ideas for most of the rest, all in budget so fingers crossed I can finish those up this week.

I managed to avoid the birthday cakes TWICE this week! Woop! Weigh in day on Thursday so wish me luck! I will be dancing extra hard on the xbox tomorrow.

We ordered some curtains for our living room last night, they're from Next and are a lovely red and beige checked pattern, we got a couple of matching cushions too and FINALLY ordered a chest of drawers for the bedroom so I won't have to keep my knickers in a cardboard box anymore!!!

I think that's all for me to report for now!

  • Sounds like M is very lucky! Christmas and December birthday are always hard, my mums is soon and we try very hard to make it separate from Christmas.

Hope the cake plans go well and well done 2 birthday treats avoided! x

  • Does anyone know how I can add a picture to a post? I wanna show you how I iced M's cake, I'm pretty pleased with it.

Had an upsetting day yesterday, I was WFH which was nice and going well until Dad called, he wanted to ensure that although I knew Grandma isn't well that actually the home she is being moved to is for end of life care and she really doesn't have long left :( so I spent most of the afternoon having a good blub, M didn't really know what to do with me. I'm in the office today and work is a good distraction but still feeling really glum.

Once she has settled in Mum will call to tell me a good time to visit in the next week or two. I will feel better for having been but I know it will be really upsetting

Hey LG, I don't often post, but I lurk in the background reading your thread every day. I just wanted to send a hug - such awful news about your Grandma. I'm sorry your family is having such a rough time just now.

I'll get back to lurking again, but I just wanted to offer my support :(
