Morning,
I hope you all had a nice weekend.
I was away with work last Thursday-Friday but other than Friday when I got a waterproof running jacket in the sale (clothing budget permitted this spend!) I managed NSD's! At the weekend the only money I spent was groceries which are in the joint budget. So i'm now up to 7, which is pretty good as I targeted 10 as I've still got half the month left.
Also saved 2 lots of £2.30 Thurs-Fri as I drove a hire car to the offsite and this morning I walk so that is a total of 8 tube trips saved so far and a further 15 working days left this month so another 30 potential trips to save.

love your posts! Even though I have "real life" friends, it's also quite nice to have "friends" on here in a world where I can be a bit anonymous!I want to be a writer0

I know what you mean Lulabelle, I like being able to come on here and just spill whatever is on my mind and I know I'm not judged on here at all! I can tracks NSD's and tube trip savings without being embarrassed!
How are we all today? Pleased to report last night I ran from the office to the station, so another £2.30 saved, was good, I was very slow but I guess that will improve! I used the zombie app which is great motivation!
This morning I also walked so another £2.30 in the bag! Didn't manage NSD's though as I bought some apples and chicken bites to snack on at work as yesterday I bought 2 Twirl bars and ate them BOTH! WOOPS!!!!!
I am working from home on Friday as Mum and Dad are arriving to stay for the weekend so that will be 2 tube trips saved instantly BUT I will still make sure I get the exercise by going for a run when M leaves for work.
My Uncle and Aunt are over from Australia right now too, I haven't seen them in years, luckily they are in my area around the same time as Mum and Dad so they are going to drop by which is exciting!
On Sunday I sat down with my recipe books (I have 3 "healthy" type ones) and picked out a bunch of recipes I wanna try, then planned ahead some meals for next week and did an online order with Mr S for Sunday night so I feel a lot more organised meal wise but also I reckon I spent £20 less without the impulse buys from in store, AND as they're already delivering in my area I picked a time which only cost £1 for delivery.
I've picked recipes which are good for batch cooking and freezing as I think I've been spending more than I need to by buying salad items from the Mr S near work for lunches instead of having leftovers.

well done on the motivation - I like the sound of the zombie app too.
I find that I save loads of money doing online shops as I have more time and don't add unnecessary items so well done on that £20 save too x

I managed another run home last night, slightly quicker than the night before which I was pleased with and I walked in this morning so two more tube trips saved - amazing to see how that is adding up now!
This morning I attended an employment law seminar at Natwest which was interesting, happy to say we are compliant with new laws so that is always good to know! Plus I got a free sausage sandwich which was delish! Their office is right opposite my old office so I called my old boss after and we had a quick coffee/hot choc to catch up which was nice, I rarely take a lunch break so I'm counting that as a break I am owed! lol
Today should be a NSD all being well.
Had some sad news today that a friend of mine in early pregnancy miscarried and feel so sad for her, not sure what to say or do to help but I'm not sure there is much that will help her right now other than being a support and listening ear when she is ready.
M and I managed to get sufficient ID with our new address on now to be able to complete our application for the current account so I posted all of that off yesterday, I hope that it comes through quickly as I'm keen to get our bills and grocery and petrol spend coming out of that account as its so hard to track what each of us is spending right now.... well, more its hard to track what he is spending. I just need to look in YNAB

Well last night I had a bunch of stuff (including a bottle of wine gifted to me by my boss which was a lovely surprise) to carry home and I felt my legs needed a rest so I elected for the tube - bad idea! There was a security alert over at London Bridge and the bridge itself was shut down so everyone who would usually walk over from the city was getting on the tube and it was chaos, I missed my usual train home as I had to queue for so long just to get to the tube platform!
I walked in this morning (£2.30 saved) and will run tonight - I felt this morning the niggling in my foot again which indicates plantar facitis is returning so I bought a cold can of fizzy drink to massage and Ice it which usually does the trick.
Yesterday was a NSD though which is good! Today isn't as I bought the can of pop!
I am working from home tomorrow which I am looking forward to a lot, will be nice not to have to commute and since I am away from the distractions of the office I plan to swot up on some of my technical accounting which I think might help me support the business better with some plans we have.

Just catching up as my housework for this pm I've just cancelled LOL...there are more important things in life!!! (like cutting up dairy free tray bake for a minister)...
Yeah I'm glad sometimes I don't live in London with the never ending public transport probs - though my twin does (we don't get on - I don't even know what borough she lives in never mind her address!!!)
So yeah am sore from a wee 3-4 mile bike ride after lunch but so good to be back on it after most of the year off it due to hand injuries and labyrinthitis (remember I had that a year ago). Also semi figured a way to make caramel latte's at home. Nom nom. and ratties well.
Family - dont go there - tis the weekend - normal time for them to be utter derrières but still
Glad everything is slowly coming together and you have lots of options other than the tube for your central commute LG...walk; run; cycle - loads of options

Morning all,
I hope you all had lovely weekends. Mine was great with the parents, they enjoyed the races and all the food we ate so that was good!
I did manage the run home on Thursday, I worked from home Friday and I walked in this morning so that is an additional 4 tube journeys saved! I plan to run home tonight too but will log that tomorrow once I have done it.
No NSD's this weekend unfortunately.
The Mr S shop arrived last night, nice and early! So I then got to planning next weeks shop, trying 3 new recipes and managed to drop the cost by £20! It may go up a little bit during the week as we run out of things but I don't anticipate by much.
We still need to get that current account sorted out!

Hi all,
Last night I made turkey meatballs with M which were lush, and its turned into 6/7 portions so I am currently eating that for lunch! I am really finding since I have moved in with M I feel a lot more in control of what I eat and meal plans. I am definitely spending a lot less in restaurants and on food from pret etc and also cooking really healthily so good stuff all around!
Last night I ran home again and walked in this morning so another two tube trips saved!
I bought some fruit squash though to add to water at work this morning to try and keep away the afternoon sugar cravings so haven't managed an NSD yet this week.
Tonight there are drinks after work which I have to attend, hopefully it won't be late but it means a run seems less likely unless I don't drink but that's not really accepted at work stuff! Might need to get the tube.... watch this space. It's the same tomorrow night too which is annoying...
It is mine and M's 2 year anniversary coming up, I have tried to raise the subject with him about what to do/present budget but he seems to change the subject every time! I have bought a couple of little fun bits but not sure what else to give him. I need to have a think.
I can't remember if I mentioned in earlier posts about my recent horse riding experiences... I found a local stables to ride at since we moved house and have been a few times (even signed up to a "buy 10 lessons get 1 free" deal) but the last couple of times I really didn't enjoy it. For me, I get enjoyment out of being outdoors and relaxing on horse back... having a nice canter down a track or across fields and popping the odd jump sort of thing. This lesson I have been assigned to feels like I am back in my teens being shouted at as I ride around in pointless circles! Everyone can benefit from lessons but this stables just isn't for me - I felt so patronised last weekend, the teacher was borderline rude to most people in the group.
So, I spoke to a friend who said there are reservist military horses nearby that I'd be able to ride through my past riding connections in London so I called up yesterday and she was lovely. She's having me in next weekend to ride with a couple of other girls and after that I can choose to attend lessons if I fancy a bit of a drilling or I can just take a horse into the park for the morning - sounds bliss! So please keep your fingers crossed I don't make a fool of myself next weekend!
I have kept my current booking for this weekend at the other stables to A) get a ride in before I get assessed at the new one and toget a refund on the remaining lessons I have purchased but not yet used. But I am very excited at having an opportunity again to ride different horses and be able to get out and about! There is a charge to ride the other horses as they need to pay for their own keep as they aren't on duty full time but nothing crazy I shouldn't think.
Work is good this week, nice and busy and feeling motivated. The new girl in my team is settling down well and seems to be picking up the work v quickly so fingers crossed that continues.
