Sounds like the hols did you good. I've just realised I've left the hot water on half the day which is not good for the electric bill but still. I was supposed to go away on a wee jaunt tomorrow to visit friends but that's all cancelled now because I have this virus....not be long now till you're debt free LG and you can start saving for a wee pad of your own (if you want to?)

Hey!!
Sorry I've been so absent, over 2 months away! Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and happy new year! I hope 2014 is a great one for all of us!
The new flat is working out really well, loving it here and enjoying the MUCH cheaper rent and the MUCH nicer commute to work!
Debt busting is going OK, much better now xmas is out of the way, I'll have paid off the LLoyds card with Feb payday and my bonus in march payday should deal with the Natwest one which has the balance transfer on. Then, when my shares come through in April I'll get rid of the loan and bung a load into savings!
Its been up and down at work since California, I had my end of year appraisal which went really badly, I was rated a 2/5 which I as really upset about and disagree with as the description of that category is very much NOT me, I've had enough and motivation is rock bottom but I can't do anything about leaving until April once I've moved over to the new company and redeemed my lovely tax-free shares!
So I think around March I'll see what the job market looks like and start to spruce up my CV, the ideal option would be to move internally but I've already asked about this and until the new company is established they want to keep the experience in the same roles which makes sense but doesn't really help me wanting to escape S!!!!Santander 0% £1,529.94

So sorry to hear about the appraisal rating. I know how that feels, as I was landed with a "poor" rating due to one serious error on my part. I appealed on the basis that my work for the rest of the year was excellent - and whilst the powers that be agreed that the rest of my work was excellent, the rating couldn't be changed. At least by appealing, it is on record that 11/12ths of the year's work was excellent. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

God your appraisal process sounds worse than ours, well done for appealing though, I didn't bother as I knew it wouldn't change anything and the damage had been done, I didn't want to have to keep dragging it up, would rather forget about it and move on but that's probably not the right thing to do.Santander 0% £1,529.94

tricky - my reaction would be to do as you are doing, wait it out for the shares/payoff and then leave. Any new company wont see the results of the appraisal and if they need a reason why you are leaving just say better prospects personal ambition and ...
in my firm the appeal process was used occasionally and did seem to work some positive results and no lingering after effects. a smaller company may be different. But you do need to be completely brutal with yourself and not just write your rating off as "politics" what did you do or not do that caused it everyone thinks they are an a* performer but its not always true and it may your work wasn't playing to your strengthsI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Thanks Mark, you're absolutely right I know my works not perfect and I know how I need to improve. I've made so many improvements this year, the accounts are in a much better state than when we started these jobs but my appraisal didn't really focus at all on any achievements it was very de-motivating.
I'll start getting my CV spruced up and see what's out there. I'd like it if I was able to factor in some time off between leaving here and starting the next job but that may be a bit tricky. I just feel so exhausted and run-down with work, I need to re-establish a work-life balance somehowSantander 0% £1,529.94
