• Yeah you're back. Not for the right reasons I guess but glad to see you again.

You kicked your debts butt last time so you know you can do it again.

Congrats on the BF as well.

    Thanks Fortune and Gretchen!

That debt will be seriously busted vvv soon! Still waiting to hear back from Natwest re the balance transfer, hoping I'll get a letter this week as I need to act quick if they reject me to apply for a different one. If that doesn't work then I'll need to seriously re-think the plan!

BF is coming to stay this weekend, luckily he is keen to relax having been worked hard this week (he is army) so I have planned to cook at home 100% for him and am thinking of some cheapy options, then hoping he'll be happy lazing around and going for a stroll etc. Nothing expensive!!

    Siggy updated!

Haven't heard back from Natwest yet, wish they'd hurry up!!!! Luckily I realised I have another month though before the interest hits as they don't charge interest on balances less than 60 days old and I thought it was 30 so at least that gives me a bit more time to sort it out.

I have worked out I will have paid off the credit card by February, then in March when my employment transfers to the new company I should have my shares payout and I'll pay off the loan then put the rest in savings.

The bf is arriving this evening, I went to the supermarket last night and bought us sups for tonight and breakfast for the whole weekend. Hopefully rest of the weekend should be cheap too.

So pleased its Friday, ready for the weekend.

Hi LG, it's been a while since I posted but I've been reading enthusiastically :) Excellent news on the boyfriend front - its always hard to strike a balance when a relationship starts. Most people put on weight and spend more money than usual, but it all settles down in the end and I'm sure you'll strike the balance perfectly.

New house sounds great - is it in the same area as your last place?

Fab news as well about your share scheme.

So two steps back and three steps forward as Mark said. It still all sounds positive though. Lessons have been learned and new approaches tried, it's all part of the game of life. I have every confidence you'll get there. And have a bit of fun on the way :)

    Good to see you back!

    Hey Siouxsie!

Thanks, you're totally right!! I have also put on weight - weird! hopefully now is the point where I'll get back to normal, the good thing is, he is really easy going so when I suggest cheap or free things to do he is more than happy to go along with it! He's currently on a train somewhere between the north and the south winging his way to me- eep!!

New area, moved from NW London to SW and really enjoying it, nice area, young-ish crowd, parks and green areas etc

Feels good to be taking control again, since I met A, the spending sky rocketed, not just for meals out etc but also, clothes for the dates, and all those things us girls need to do to looks nice for the boys! haha

I've stopped most of the extra spending now and so hoping I can just start to pay it all off!

    Good to be back :)

You've cheered me up no end LG...I thought I was bad using £12 of easy access savings to buy an e-cig (should have really budgeted)

You can do this...I had so many 'whoopsies' in the process of getting my overdraft cleared it took me about 6 months longer than it should have :(

But you can do it!!! You know you can...and a new frugal man...wow...when is the wedding tee hee.....

I'm okay...a.bit wobbly but okay. Savings not going down but really not going up...

And a new social worker who doesn't want to see my spreadsheet every time I say I've spent money :D and who gets my small furries (they've been expensive lately. One week I paid £80 in vet fees. If that's bad one time I was in the vets and someone paid £120 for a 10 minute consultation (and who knows what else?) for her cat

  • Well, I'm afraid its all a bit doom and gloom at my end today.

The fella decided he no longer wanted to be my fella on Friday night, he didnt show up to my place for the dinner I had prepared and instead dragged me accross London on the pretence of meeting his friends only to tell me it "wasn't working" I didn't stick around for the end of the sentance and thankfully there was a taxi approaching so I hopped in and went home. Therefore - money wasted not only on the taxi but also the food I'd bought. My only regret was that I didn't have a drink in my hand to chuck over him. Not heard a thing since, not even an apology for being such a COWARDLY ~@%^&£##*

Saturday saw a miserable morning therefore but I went out to see friends and spent the day in the pub getting steadily drunk and putting the world to rights.

Sunday, nice lie in and then welcomed the new housemate, T, who moved into our home on Sunday and we had a chilled evening at home.

THEN. As I checked my online banking on Sunday I saw my credit card balance had decreased to £400ish, i thought YIPPEE I've been accepted for the balance transfer and figured the letter just hadn't reached me yet. Oh no.... When I then checked my current account, I saw a bounced payment for £1,015. STUPID me had forgotten my credit card was set up to pay off in full and not the minimum balance. I rang Lloyds straight away and they've switched it to min payment for me. But on the Lloyds credit card statement I can't see the payment being bounced yet, I can only see that on my current account. So will keep my eye on it and call them if needs be.

So there we go, thats my sorry tale from the weekend. Time to get cracking on work. Have a good day all

  • That's awful London Girl. All I can say is you have to kiss a lot of frogs.

    Take care

    Och pants LG..

I thought a row over DS with ma and my e-cig flooding was bad enough (stressed me out enough)

Well hope and pray today is better. Wish I lived closer and I'd bring you round some sugar cookies :D
