That last post has really put a smile on my face after what has been such a sh1tty couple of weeks. Thank you! I'm so pleased. Like I've mentioned before I had a few times like these where you get a windfall and can make such a big change to your overall position in a short space of time. It feels so good doesn't it.

MASSIVE congratulations on getting below the £10k mark. A great milestone to achieve. Looking forward to seeing the impact on the percentage paid off.

If I recall correctly you are graphing your progress right? How does it look today?

    Hey!

It feels amazing, walked out of the bank with a huge smile on my face! Hope everything OK with you, PM if need!

Thanks, can't wait for the rest of the DD's to go out so I can write it properly!!

Graph look s**t hot! There's a huge downwards dip in the line which I am LOVING

Just burnt my risotto as I was getting to distracted by my spreadsheet!

  • Morning all,

hope everyone having a good weekend!

Got some exciting news, my elder brothers girlfriend is 6 weeks pregnant! So excited!! He rang to tell me yesterday, was a bit of a shock!

I have that date this week too :) been chatting with him over email and he seems really funny, so hope we get on in the flesh!! I'm going to pop to the shop to spend my voucher I've had since xmas on something nice to wear I think and my hair also needs a colour so will get one from boots, really freaky as he works near me and does a similar job in the same industry (just more senior!). This will be the first time I've bought myself clothes I think since this diary?? Bit nervous, hope I manage to stick to the voucher plus the £20 I have saved in the clothing budget.

Have been studying quite a lot but need to crack on today and get more done!

How much is the voucher for? Have a look online to see what they'll have available within the budget - might help you look for those items rather than risk finding something you love thats over budget.

Fab news on the 24%! Your line about getting excited about spreadsheets made me giggle :) good luck with the date, sounds like you have plenty in common already so will have something to talk about! I'm sure we'll all want to hear all the gossip afterwards!

    Hi

It was for £20 and I found a dress for £15 and a belt to go with and spent £11 over which is cool as I do have some buffer this month with the bonus

  • So shopping went well today, I also got my hair colour which I will put on tonight ready for my date! I bought a pink cotton dress and blue thin belt for round the middle. Im going to team it with a blue cardi and some shoes, I think he's only a couple of inches taller than me so no heels! I'm really excited I haven't been on a first date in a very long time, army boy was a mate first so that was different!

Just chilling out now and the Sainsburys delivery is due soon.

V.busy week ahead and I need to get stuck into work as the end of last week was a write off after the move was announced. Hoping to get the details on that next week. Feeling a lot better about it, I think the stress of everything recently made me so down about it.

Riding tomorrow am which is probably the only one I will fit in this week. Going home at the weekend for my haircut and to see my newly expecting brother and partner! Also booked that jumping lesson as a treat, its cheaper at the yard back home and I grew up there so love going back!!

  • Haha tell me about it, looking forward to my long weekend to digest it all!

Thanks, I will do I plan to have a riding lesson and will see whats left after debt busting! I need to speak to my friend to see what she would like to do to celebrate, this morning she still sounded very much in shock!

Fingers crossed for your bonus, it would be fab if you could get that one cleared, its horrible seeing how much they cost us!!!

BLIMEY!!!!! That is freaky!!!! Its really rare to have so many parallels!! Where are you up to with CIMA? Let me know if I can help at all, I know how stressful it can all get :D

My FM has managed to haggle down our broadband as we kept going over by a tenner a month and it was up for renewal so she rang and pretended to leave and now we have it unlimited for £6 less a month so thats a few quid saved!

Well I've literally just started CIMA, doing F1 and E1 first. I had exemptions because of my degree but I waived them as I graduated in 2007 and felt I needed the refresher. Doing okay so far but struggling to get motivated!!!

That's a fab deal on the broadband :D who are you with?

  • Hi guys!

Writing with a much clearer and happier head today!

Went out this am and had a lovely ride and cantered round most of the park - not sure if me or the horse had the better time!

Then went to Nationwide and withdrew £1,200.

Then walked across the road (thank fully avoiding muggers) and paid £879.37 into my Santander Loan account leaving the balance at ZERO

WOO HOO 2 debts down 3 to go!!!!

Have come home and paid a chunk of NW c card as well, so will update siggy now and here are the current balances:

    Halifax CC - ZERO
    Santander Loan ZERO
    NW CC - £1,760 (after today's payment)
PO CC - £3,721.22 (with this months DD due to go out around the 21st)
NW Loan £4,610.46 (with a DD of £104.79 due to reduce that in a few days)

    Total: £10,196.77
Still due to go out this month: £197.84
Meaning that by pay day: £9,998.93 BELOW £10k!!

    CANNOT WAIT

    :beer::j:j:T:T:T:T:T :j:j:beer:

    Congrats! :D

Fab news on your chum being cancer free. Fab news about your brother too - what does it feel like to be an auntie? Brilliant news about the debt reduction too - my debts are coming down slowly..still no sign of work yet but I know everything will work out for the best.

Change is scary when it comes to work - I had loads of change and in the end got a book called Who Moved My Cheese? Basically a story about mice living in a maze and finding cheese and how one mouse couldnt find cheese and didnt venture very far and how the other moved further away and found more cheese. It focussed my mind on the change going on around me and how I wouldn't grow and would stagnate if I went against the change. Change can be good.

The survey was done on the house and as a result the original offer was withdrawn as it was made subject to survey, a new offer was made for less than the original one. Thankfully the vendors have accepted it - mum did threaten to withdraw from the purchase entirely. The house has no lintels above the windows and as a result walls are starting to sag..so new lintels needed along with new windows as the ones that are there already will be too big. I drove past the house today and got a little thrill from seeing the sold sign outside.

I did learn one thing from mum when I phoned her on Friday - that Wednesdays at B&Q are pensioner days meaning 10% off, I have £40 of B&Q vouchers to spend thanks to Consumerpulse and now I know about the pensioners' discount I can send mum & dad with the vouchers to get what I want so that I save money:D

It will be scary living in a house of my own..I know that I shall be even more frugal than I am now:D
