Well done LG. You've had such a stressful sounding week which seems to have ended on a really positive note which is great news and lovely to read.

It must have been lovely to hear from army boy since his return. He sounds so genuine. You're very lucky to have such a great friend.

I wish you the best of luck with your studying and exams. I hope the last exam pass is momentum for these ones.

Glad you have sorted things about with FM and had a chat with AB - not long till he's back. :) As has been said, he sounds the sort of friend to value. :)

Re: the slow cooker - I bought one a few months ago from MR T: they are currently £12. It works well though the capacity is on the large side for 1 person - though as you batch cook I don't think that would be a problem. The only difficulties I've found are that not all the parts will dishwash / microwave and it has little pads under the feet which can come loose. Even with those small problems, I'd buy the same again: I love it.

determined new ms - thank you for that link!

If you have a "The Factory Shop" or something similar near you, they sell small ones. But as you say, the bigger ones are good for batch cooking.

Thanks, yeah he's a good egg!

Thanks for the tip I will have a look, I usually wash this one by hand anyway so that doesn't really bother me, £12 is a bargain!

Thanks! I don't think we do have one of those nearby but will keep an eye out

  • Morning all,

Got into work early to fiddle with my spreadsheet and enter my plan for the week!

I have cancelled the drinks on both Wednesday and Thursday night so that'll give me the chance to get off to a good start! I've calculated how much to pay off my DD's to begin by paying £550 this month, then I'm going to aim to do another £50 at the end of the month but giving myself that leeway just in case.

Hoping to meet my NSD target today!

Feeling a LOT more postive today, determined to get Feb off to a good start and stick to it!

  • Hey,

I'd really recommend you don't pay more than £10 for a slow cooker. Asbo and Mr T have the same one and they regularly discount it to £9. If you can't wait until they do, have a look in the big shop with the blue and red logo where they say "to your collection point please". They have very cheap ones in there too.

Now that you've explained everything to your FM do you think you'll stay put?

Yet another coincidence... I won £10 in Saturday's lottery too! They are cheeky aren't they with that email they send you to say "We have good news about your lottery ticket. Log on to find out" but don't say how much... and then until you can get to a PC to log on you think it might be the jackpot! :) Not that I'm complaining. £10 is better than a poke in the eye.
