    Hello there

Sound like they are doing a good job.

We had our solar installed on 14th Feb 2012. Sent MCS certificate and application to E.on the following week as had to wait for MCS to arrive. Got letter and pre contract papers to sign from them 2 weeks ago. They have asked us to submit a meter reading on 17th August 2012. So looks like we will not get any payment until November. 9 months after unstall.

We know others have had a lot of problems with E.on too.

All we can say is well done to EDF.

    Snap !

I will report back when my payment arrives from B.Gas.

    Cheque approaching £500 arrived today.

BTW B.Gas is not my energy provider.

We have just submitted our second reading, and it has been rejected by EDF!

Our panels were installed 10/10/11, reading 08/03/12 was 501, now 19/06/12the reading is 2028.

They say this outside the predicted reading for the period!

What do they expect us to do? The reading is the reading......it has been sunny up here in Glasgow.

I was a computer programmer in the 1970's and helped set up a "bank giro" system for putting money directly into suppliers' bank accounts.
They did not like it as it was new and they all thought of a cheque as cash.

Meanwhile over in USA, where the banks were still somewhere in the dark ages, IBM set up a series of bank accounts in different states plus a computer system that aimed to pay a supplier from the most distant bank account. With a bit of luck that would improve IBM's cash flow by at least a fortnight.

When I was recently the executor for my late uncle, he had a nest egg of circa 50k with Barclays, so I opened an executor's account with Barclays and asked for the nest egg to be transferred.
Funny thing they could not do it and so sent me a cheque, posted second class over a weekend.

As the cost of snail mail continues to rise - the benefits of using 19th century style bills of exchange won't be so advantageous.

What is the rating of your inverter?
Send them a photograph of the meter?!

Interesting. Sounds like you have a max size installation. I'm in north of England with 2kw system installed on same date and my readings are 358 and 880 so I can see their point. I guess you have to ask them to read your meter.

Hiya, got to admit, that is some high generation for the last 3.5 months. Presumably you've got a pretty big south facing system?

This site may help a little:

    http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/uk/anomacts/

If you select sunshine, you'll see that Glasgow had average to poor levels of sunshine Oct to Feb, but average or better from Mch onwards, so that may help with explaining it.

I'd definitely register with this site, which should give pretty accurate estimates of actual generation once you've put in all your details:

    http://solargis.info/pvspot/system-24/month.htm#2012-06

If pvSpot is close to your numbers, then the two arguments should validate your claim. I think!

    Best of luck.

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

It surprises me that cheques are still being used rather than direct bank transfers.

Just received our second cheque from British Gas for our panels installed in Nov 2011, most recent read was submitted 21 May and cheque arrived 15 June. If your supplier is taking months to pay then move to one that doesnt!
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

    A couple of points:

    1) Whether your FIT provider takes 2 days, 2 weeks or 2 months to pay you, you will always receive the same amount of money

    2) The big 6 energy suppliers will generally now only accept a FIT application if they already provide you with your energy supply so if you want to change your FIT provider you will also have to change your energy supplier. This may not be financially beneficial.

For example, if I switched to British Gas I would be nearly £100 out of pocket.

Just to let you know a good story about a energy company. I have now received 2 FIT payments. The first payment was debited into my bank account in 26 days after giving them my meter reading via post. The latest took 19 days and the reading was given online.

Its nice that after much suffering getting the system fitted (September last year) that its running smoothly at last. shame about the weather now. Hehe.

Many thanks for all the people on here that helped my through the difficult times.
