Do E.ON reply to say they have received an application for FIT ? I applied last week via email but haven't heard anything, my current supplier isn't registered for FIT. I don't want to wait weeks and then find out they haven't received it or I have something wrong.
    Cheers

Think you may find that E.On don't now accept applications from people who do not buy their Energy from them....I may be wrong; worth a phone call to their FIT Team..0345 301 4884.

There terms say either you get your energy from them or your current provider doesnt have a FiT scheme. My current provider is Octopus and they don’t have a FiT scheme.

You should be okay then...worth a phone call, however, to check how your application is proceeding if you are concerned.....coffee.gif

I gave them a call, they do have my application but running a month behind on emails.

If I had known that I would have probably gone elsewhere !

So now the long wait only to find out I did something wrong and have to start again.

Hello mre15 and I'm sorry for the delay in replying to emails. This is something we're working to improve.

Our FIT schemes are looked after by a specialist team and your email will have been forwarded to them. I suspect it's too late now but the quickest way to apply is through our website. These applications go directly to the FIT team instead of into the general pot.

Once they have the application, the FIT team carries out various checks and will be in touch if they need more information. Applications can take up to 8 weeks to go through. If you haven't heard from us after this time please call the number Oscargrouch quotes - thanks Oscargrouch. Lines are open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and between 8am and 6pm Saturdays.

After these checks have been done, we'll send you a Welcome Pack with your FIT plan and an acceptance form if you wish to go ahead.

As your current supplier isn't a mandatory FIT Licensee, we'll be happy to accept your application.

Sorry again for the slow response to your email.

Thanks for popping on the phone number Oscargrouch. MSE don't like company reps doing this.

You're right about us no longer accepting FIT applications from consumers where we don't supply the imported electricity. The exceptions to this are where the existing supplier isn't a mandatory FIT licensee - as in mre15's case - or if the consumer isn't connected to the grid.

    Thanks again.

    Hi Malc
Thanks for the replies. I did apply straight to the fit team email address advertised on the website as it suggested. I was expecting an automated reply but got nothing so was concerned if they had received it or not. This was why I phoned in the end. I just wanted to know it was received and in a queue for processing. I am disappointed it will take so long though, especially if I have done something wrong. It’s not the easiest of forms to fill out.

Submitted my first ever FIT reading to EDF on 1st Jan. Had an email statement off them on the 3rd and payment hit my bank account via BACS on the 7th.

    Happy with that.

Apologies before I start but this is a rant aimed at Malc and E.On.

As he knows well, I am generally happy as a customer for energy and FiT but what absolutely gets my goat is how E.On (mis)handles the requirement to periodically read FiT meters.

This has been a bugbear for the whole 5+ years since I got PV - turning up unannounced, sending a second different unannounced person, coming back for a subsequent reading within months of the first, not a couple of years and so on. But last week things reached new depths when I got a letter (at the same time as my FiT statement following the December reading by me, to add insult to injury) threatening to stop my FiT because I am not allowing entry to read the meters.

This is not only outrageous but untrue. We had a male of the species turn up unannounced (again) a few months ago when my wife was home alone. It was so long ago that we had forgotten about it until this letter arrived! My wife was not prepared to allow an unannounced stranger into the house when I was not home, not least because they need access to our attic, so quite invasive. The person understood her position and left suggesting we would be contacted to arrange a convenient time. We heard nothing more until this letter.

Suffice to say I have complained to EOn but they really need to change their procedures here. I have suggested on numerous occasions that they should contact householders to arrange a suitable time and not just allow some random person to turn up and seek entry. However, this seems to fall continually on deaf ears, so I thought a rant on here may trigger a more favourable response.

So Malc, over to you to ruffle some internal feathers - I cannot be the only person frustrated by your ridiculous approach to this issue!

One the positive side, E.On has until the threatened cut-off date in April to resolve my particular complaint :rotfl:

Seems like they haven't changed their processes, or the wording of their letters, since I last encountered a similar problem back in 2017.
