Hi, wasnt sure where to ask this but can anyone help please? I'm with Eon for my fit and electricity supplier. Can I now leave them as a supplier but keep the fit going? They're going to be £80 a year more expensive if I stick with them!

Yes. You can move your electricity supply without impacting your FIT. I moved my supply away from EDF, and then moved it again several times - my FIT is still with EDF.

Hello manda1205 and to confirm orrery's advice - thanks orrery. You can change your imported electricity supplier and leave the FIT with us.

FIT and imported electricity are treated separately. If you contact the supplier of your choice, either directly or through a Price Comparison site, they'll look after the switch for you. They'll apply to us to take over and send us the meter readings they open their account to. We'll close to the same readings and issue our final bill. This makes sure the same electricity isn't charged twice.

Your FIT account won't come into the switch at all.

Hope this is useful manda1205 and sorry to lose you.

Here's another one for Malc to take back to his EON colleagues.

Higher up this thread I had a bit of a rant about EON and the bi-annual FiT meter reading fiasco. That was resolved and a meter reading was taken by the appointer meter-reader in mid-January.

As far I was concerned that was "it" for the next 24 months but no, EON has other ideas and the fiasco continues.

We have been away for a couple of weeks and returned home today to a note from EON that their FiT meter reader was unable to read our meters on 19 February, only a month after they attended and read the meters. What happened to the 24 month cycle?

I am of course going to ignore the note but Malc, please get your people to get their house in order as this really does tarnish your otherwise good reputation.

Hello pinnks and I have to agree. This is bizarre.

As promised, I've been sending feedback about this and other FIT issues to those at E.ON responsible for our scheme. I gave the bag a shake only the other day and will be sure to do so again now you've brought this to my attention.

I've no explanation as to why we've called to see the meter again so soon after the last time and I'm sorry we're causing this inconvenience pinnks.
