iHola!
Blue Skies, sunshine, and a nice breeze, what more can I say!!
Nicely unpacked, breakfast was left overs from bringing over with us. lunch the same, and now we have been to Lidl and stocked up with fresh things. Did have some pork loin slices and chicken breasts in the freezer from last time, so have thawed those. Will cook both the chicken breasts, and mixed one with some York Ham with Salad tonight, and keep the other for tomorrow.
Had a lovely welcome from the neighbours out here, all came out to greet us, as they were all sat outside, they knew we had arrived, plied with cold drinks, helped us unload the car it was very festive. Surprising how sunshine changes folks.
Rosyred Congrats.
All those feeling down (((hugs))
Lou nice to see you posting.
Catch you all soon, take care. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Good afternoon to all.
What was supposed to have been a very productive day, turned out not to be, as quite early on I tripped and fell on the stairs, fetching my elbow such a cracking blow I wasn't sure if I was going to faint or throw up...fortunately OH was in his workshop, and I was thankful for sorting out the phone indoors so he has an extension I can call him on. He came and made me tea, and fetched me a packet of frozen peas to put on it. I have actually broken the skin, it hit the wood at the side of the stairs. Big bruise I expect
I managed to get my second batch of Elder (berry) Rob, a sort of cordial, made though, and I've bunged some star anise in this one. I figure if both are old country remedies for colds and flu, that together they should be good. Tastes great too...the star anise is a good improvement.
Peeling and chopping 6lb of tomatoes was put on hold, I might go and see if I think I can mange that now I've recovered a bit. I wanted to make some red tomato and red onion chutney - which is my favourite of all the things I make...nom nom. All the tomatoes and onions this year are from our garden which is even better.
Dinner is (fortunately) left overs from yesterday. Cauliflower and broccoli cheese. Under the cauli and broc. is a layer of all the roast veggies left over from Sunday dinner, roast butternut, red onions and parsnips, carrots, sliced new potatoes and a layer of cooked kale that wasn't enough to cook for a veg for all three of us. I'm working really hard at the moment to make sure that all of the leftovers get used.
I was given a big box of fabric scraps today
which I'm hoping I can do something useful with. They are furnishing weight mainly, and quite 80's, but I thought maybe some shopping bags and aprons? Maybe even sell some for Xmas
Been looking at free patterns online.

Hi All,
Thanks for the replies, we are in Greater Manchester, I must admit I was surprised but will definitely ask again. I would have thought he was high risk as both his parents have had cancer, luckily his mums was caught in time and she had a hysterectomy.
Am going to do some research and find out why its not available.
Thanks againStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Evening all..
A beautiful day here today, managed to get wm on and clean washing on the line before the school run this morning, was glad about that.
Straight to work from school but didn't have to pick dd up as Tuesday is the day she goes to her dads for tea.
Popped to the shops after work, came home, changed the washing on the line, stripped bed in the hope of more sun tomorrow (please) and sat down!! I have such a physical job it makes me exhausted so when dd is out I try to rest.
I've just put some chicken burgers and wedges for tea, my comfort meal as I don't have to cook for dd :j although my mum will probably winge that her tea isn't cooked but tbh I've past caring as awful as that sounds. I cannot wait for this house to be ready so I can get back to normal, just me and my baby.
Well she'll be home at 6 so guna have another little chill before the mayhem begins again.
p.s thanks all for making me feel welcome

Julie reading your OP you mentioned a well man check......would I be right in guessing this is probably different from the testing kit that my parents have done on the NHS. Perhaps that's where the confusion stems from???I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Bitsy, I think your right, the well man is no longer available, the cheapest I can find is done by Marie Stopes and its £175 but I think he did ask about the check for bowel cancer which they will only do if you have symptoms which he doesn't.
I think our next step will be buying the kit from the chemist and booking the well man tests. I know its not cheap but I think worth it for our peace of mindStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

My mum never had symptoms, nor my dad but they have both been sent testing kits via the NHS. I would be returning asking why the postcode lottery for testing kits grrrrrrI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Evening all
I've spent 90mins out on the balcony reading in the sunshine
it's turned out to be a fab day! Although I am now confused wardrobe wise as I had given in and embraced the autumn/winter clothes :rotfl:
Just had a yummy yea of HM chips, peas, sweetcorn, coleslaw and a fishcake, slowly getting used to thte taste of fish now.
I spoke to the laptop people and need to return my lappy to be looked at  so annoyed! It's only 2months old. And cos I'm off on hols in 3 weeks I'm worried it may not be back in time (I'm not taking it with me, but don't want it being delivered whilst I'm away!)
OS wise - DW been on, WM will go on at some point.
Have a good evening all
