Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 27th September. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I'm off to work soon & I need to top up hubby's works phone on the way.
It's bright here today so maybe it will get up to 27deg, who knows.
Spag bol for tea tonight, I have almost no meat left in the freezer but it's payday on Thursday so I will stock up at the weekend.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning HH and all who follow I got my shopping yesterday and have £4.50 left over to go into the holiday fund for next year No more shopping now for this week.I only had a few odds and ends to get anyway.Got a result in Mr T's I bought some of their chestnut mushrooms that were on special offer at 250gms for 50p when I got to the checkout I was charged £1.00 so went to the customer services and got them checked and received a pound back plus my mushrooms as the tills had made a mistake .So I was pleased with that .also they had carrots and cauliflower on offer at 50p each which I snapped up.Was a bit suprised at the price of leeks but bought a big one anyway as I have some peeled spuds in the fridge and fancy leek and potato soup today.
School run this morning then home to do a bit of cooking Hope everyone has a good day forcast locally today is 25c the weathers gone crazy but I'm not complaining.
Cheers chums

Thanks for the new thread, Hester.
Oh, the nights are drawing in! This is the first morning the street-lights weren't off when it was time to let the cats out. They're now sulking as I won't let them out if the lights are on and, lacking understanding of road safety issues, think mum's being mean!
Yesterday was fairly rotten (PMS is a horrid, horrid thing) and I spent most of the day asleep or feeling sorry for myself. Boring and self-indulgent, I know. Today, the cleaner's coming so I need to go out to let her do her stuff so at least I won't be sloping off to bed! I've got to visit my CPN (I have Bipolar Disorder) too and I'm sure there's something else but can't remember what ... need that second cup of coffee!
Hope everyone else has a good day.Household: Laura + William-cat

Morning all, kitchen cleaned, DW emptied and WM on. Cat tray cleaned and just the kids uniform to iron. Looking lovely outside - so am hoping that I can get loads of washing done as its likely to be the last definate fine spell before winter. Might even have a BBQ this weekend (oops - thats probably put the kybosh on the fine weather in yorkshire!). DS1s school trip tomorrow to an egyptian museum - can't pass that up, so I'm going. Will be cleaning house today whilst I wait in for our new bed to be delivered. Found mould on the bed on Saturday - yuk yuk yuk. So will be nice to have a new one - it is 13 years old!! Highlighted that my 'puter is the cause of me getting NOTHING done during the day, so going to have to be strict with myself!! Hugs to those in need. xMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Good Morning x
Hester - just read on your blog that you were sent home again. Perhaps you should stay at home today and get really well? Anyway take lots of care whatever you decide. Hope your foster grandchildren are going to another happy and settled home :T:T:T
Ok well awake early. Doggies had eaten something whilst out with my dad and I really knew about it this morning:eek::eek::eek: They are not really themselves this morning so hope whatever they ate passes through their system quickly.
Im planning a quiet morning as I have two appointments this afternoon. Im also going to see Mooloo for a catch-up. The washing machine is whirring with doggy bedding. They will be cross as it will smell fresh which they will hate for a while.
Jackie G - nice to see you posting and lots of hugs for you and DS1
Donny - pleased you made it safely to warmer climes
Taplady - hope Mr Taplady gets on ok at doctors.
Bargainbird - Hope you doing ok and thinking of you. Missing your posts xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

Morning everyone,
Hester get well soon, you really need to slow down and concentrate on getting properly better.
Thank you everyone for the birthday and party wishes for DD1, she has had a really lovely couple of days and actually being quite pleasant at the moment (she is 14!)
Tonight I have to take DS up to his school for a 6th form open evening. It seems really early to be talking about next year but apparently they have to apply before Christmas. He wants to stay on and do A levels so we need to talk to the teachers about what he needs to get in his GCSEs.
The weather here was absolutely lovely yesterday afternoon and we are forecast even better weather today so I better get the washing on the line.
Hugs to all that need them especially Lou.
Bargainbird where are you?
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning All
Had a lovely meal last night. Should go back on the diet today but still have a box of choccies to finish
Mind you I have gone off Cadbury's chocolate because it has become far too sweet since the yanks stole it
Very misty this morning and we have had rain again, but it is forecast to dry up later - I hope so because DD has put her floordrobe in the washing basket and it is overflowing .
DS is a college today so he is up and in the shower at the moment.
DD starts back at college next week and so does her BF.
She had to get another student loan because the fees are so highbut there are no jobs around here so the kids have no choice.
OH well I am another one who needs to stay off the 'puter during the day so I am off to make a start.
(((((((HUGS)))))) to all who need one, help yourself
Have Good Days All xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Morning folks - feels like I just went to my bed ten mins ago! This cold has really floored me so I took night nurse last night and must have slept so sound without waking from half past 9 until the washing machine went onto the spin mode at 5 to 7 - maybe just as well I put it on the timer or I might have stll been sleeping yet! I have been searching for Potters malt and cod liver oil butterscotch flavour but seemingly its not made anymore only the regular flavour - so it will be no thanks! The big brown jar with the red tartan label used to sit in the corner cupboard when we were wee, and we got a spoonfulevery day. Will have a look for some other pick me up today.
Simce w/m is finished will get the washing out after my cuppy, it will be sausage and onion casserole tonight, with mashed tatties. Will have to do hubbys accounts at night so will be a busy day.
The sun is just coming up just now, and its registering 12 degrees so looks like a good day ahead
have a good day

Morning everyone
Sunny and bright here this morning. Washing out on the line with another load ready to go in. DH due home later today so no doubt there will be more washing!
The meeting at school last night wasn't very long but we got lots of good information - so DS1 really looking forward to it. Just need to get it paid for now.
Dinner last night was fresh pasta and sauce after we got back from the meeting. Tonight will be quick dinners as DS1 has Rugby training. I have menu planned for a roast tomorrow night, got a joint of pork on offer so that will be nice and there will be some leftovers.
Have a great day everyone, hugs to those that need/want them, take care.

Morning Everyone,
Bread is on, and last night's loaf is sliced. DS is nearly ready for school (and whistling which is good news!), he's not been sleeping well because at the weekend my Ex asked him if he's been having nightmares since his Nana died... so guess what... the nightmares have started!
Anyway, today I have to write up the schedule for where DS is and when and get that emailed off to my ex. Look up hotels in the area for a friend who wants to holiday down here, and finalise my shopping list!!
Parents Evening last night, it went well enough... I mainly had to tell them how to get the best out of DS and get him to focus
My stomach has just grown (I am a lot bigger then I was with DS at full term... and i'm not 6 months until next tuesday!!!!!) and I am having trouble walking, and breathing... and the heat/compression stockings combination is horrid! I thought it was Autumn, I love Autumn weather!
Well best be off... going to peek at the grabbit board (I have gotten some great stuff off there for Birthdays next year as Christmas is already done!)
Have a great day everyone x
