  • Hi everyone

Not much to report from me.

I'm having a rough few days where I struggle to see my future - there are some problems at home which make life difficult and I then have trouble sleeping which makes everything seem like a big deal!

Anyway, onwards and upwards. I have been very productive today - all tidy at home and lunch brought in so I haven't spent any money. I need to get some skin care products but I am going to do that tomorrow - and Im going to go for a much cheaper range to save some pennies.

I have been back in touch with an old friend today which is really lovely - hopefully we will meet up soon. She really has been a great support to me in the past.

    Thats all for now!

    Afternoon all,

A busy morning here as both DH and I had doctors appointments, mine for a smear, yuk, but it was fine and DH because he has a swollen tummy under his ribcage. The doctor thinks its either an infection which he has treated with something similar to gaviscon and tablets. If its not better in a couple of weeks he will have to go for a camera as the other possibility is a hiatus hernia. He also asked about a well man check. DH's dad died in his early 50's with bowel cancer and he promised him he would get checked once he was 50, but apparently this is not available anymore and you have to pay to go private:mad: we will pay but its sad that its not available for all. Has anyone paid for a private health check, any recommendations??
DGS was sick in the night so his bedding along with the bath mats are on the line as Manchester is finally sunny.
Just 4 of us for tea tonight as DD is off to her sewing class and DGS off to stay with his dad so will have meatballs and rice.
DGS couldn's go in nursery today as he has conjunctivitis otherwise he is well and has just gone down for a nap.
Better get on and tidy around whilst I have the chance.
    Enjoy the sunshine x

  • Julie67 That is disgusting about DH where are you in the country?
I ask because a friend of mine has just been tested for BC on the NHS because his Dad died of it, and as such he is classed as high risk.

  • Afternoon all

Busy day here....had a nice chat with DD even though she had a bit of a rant about work. She was discussing her professional practice with me as her new director had remarked that they do things in dfferent ways, so DD had a slight panic. Anyhow I think DD is doing OK as I helped her to reflect on how she works with her class. :)

DD had a brainwave and put her laptop in the kitchen so we could chat as she prepared dinner. It was just like sitting in her kitchen chatting.

So then I had to rush to get the washing on to the line and yours truly to the gym.

I know it's a bit late but I've put more washing on as DS turfed out some manky towels grrr so better in wm and on line than in a stinky pile.

Tea tonight will be pasta with a tomato sauce and some smoked sausage chopped into it.

So have a good afternoon all and hugs and kind thoughts to all.

    Good afternoon all,

I've been missing for a few days, but had an exciting day yesterday as our beautiful DGD was born:j:j ,and we seem to have been rushing about ever since :D They are due home from hospital shortly so DS2 & I will pop over.Baby's Mum has been absolutely fine-chatting away with DS, and us ,so thankful about that,as he was worried after she's been so cool towards him.She was 7lb3oz and they have both taken to breastfeeding well.DGD has so many clothes she'll need to be changed about 6 times a day to get use out of them:)

OSiness, well using up hm freezer meals counts doesn't it,and I did a quick hoover as DSIL ,DN & DGNephew are calling to deliver some babygifts.Oh & I've tidied a cupboard and shredded some paperwork as DH has lost the van reg doc :mad:We haven't found it,so he has to go into Manchester.

Right, better get a move on as DS has just got a text from ex to say they are ready to go home, accompanied by a pic of DGD looking very cute in her new car seat.

Sorry not caught up with the last couple of days news so hope you are all ok,and if you're not then lots of hugs from me.xx

My mum has been tested too on the NHS. Think they even tested my dad even though there is not history of it in his family.

RosyRed - Congratulations on becoming a Granny :T:beer:

tryingtocutback - sending you hugs, I agree everything is alwasy FAR worse when I don't get enough sleep xx

I have actually done some gardening  Only scratched the surface but cut the lawns, cut back some shrubs and hostas, edged the lawn and strimmed it. hung another load of washing and now chilling for 15 before I head out on the school run.

jackieo wish i could get the tesco price war offers but i don't have time to get to the nearest big one this week. Maybe I could find the offer items in Asda and use the price guarantee :rotfl:
    Rosyred congratulations :j
(hugs) tryingtocutback and everyone else who needs them.

Afternoon everyone, just on my break at work so popping on to get some OS motivation. I've sorted all my work and university hours until christmas and it's quite depressing as my only free time in the week(aside 2-3 hours a night to eat, clean, wash, work...) is two hours on a thursday lunch time when I shall run home to do a load of washing and some weekly cleaning. I really need to make a planner and assign days to other jobs like batch cooking, shopping, errands and uni work.

  • Thank you all for your kind wishes - Its nice to feel supported.

I have spent some time looking at posts on here today and getting some nice tips and I feel much better!

RosyRed - how wonderful! many, many congratulations. Looking forward to baby reports!
Julie67 - I also thought the test was free and automatic to 50 yr olds then every 2 years. I remember colleagues in England being invited but I wasn't 50 then:dance:. Was last year though (living in Scotland) and got the 'pack' through the post. Might be worth asking again?
