Morning all,
I had planned to do lots of alterations on my oversized clothes y/day but DD2 dropped DGD2 off here for the day so all plans went out the window. DGD did help me clean some patio door glass, I did the vinegar & newspaper method. DGD enjojed polishing the glass but when I went to get more v/mix I came back to find her polishing the white sofa with newspaper. Guess what's going in the WM today.
I've had DD1 in tears on the phone as DGD1 went to N/hampton Uni at the w/end DD took her there on Fri and stayed in a T/lodge and got home on Sun night. She has been in bits since missing her little (18yr old) baby. DD told me I wouldn't know the pain of her baby leaving home. Yeah right, been there got the wet pillow.
DD1 hasn't heard any thing more from the Police re the poisoning. Thanks for asking JULIEG. Will update when I hear anything.
I hope to spend time gardening if the weather is kind here, if not it's back to sewing. Got loads of ys mince, DH fancies a cottage pie for dinner, I'll make enough for DD2, GDD & SiL2b. Her baby is due in 5wks and she is so tired so making their dinner will help her out.
Only skimmed through y/days posts so off to catch up.
Welcome to Nebbies and masive (((((hugs to poorlies, stressed and lonely Mums missing their Uni babies)))))0 -
Morning All,
Gosh I am so stiff this morningI feel like the crooked man. Have done my stretching exercises & am currently sitting here with two hotbots hoping the heat will loosen things up a bit.
DS has just gone out of the door, dogs have been out ( in the garden) & gone back to bed, cats have been fed so I have a good half hour of peace & quiet until the rest of the household rouses itself.
OS? to be honest at the mo I cba to even think about itI still have not managed to get through to CAB so Think I am going to have to fill the DLA forms in myself, anyone done these before? any good tips?
Hester I hope you're starting to feel better, colds that just hang on & on can really take it out of you so try & be good to yourself x
When I started this post there were only 7 on this thread & already I can't remember what I readso will just bid you all a good day.
Hugs, spoons & hi5's as appropriate x

ps. was it on here that someone mentioned a "poachers/countrymans" cake? some sort of fruit cake that was full of goodies that would keep you going whilst out all day, if so could they point me in the direction of a recipe because for some reason I didn't bookmark it when I first read about it:(Sometimes not moving backwards is as much an achievement as moving forwards is on other times. Morning everyone.
Off to see a preggy friend this morning. She's about 32 weeks and it's her IVF baby so really looking forward to a catch up. Will fit in some housework this afternoon. Honest
Typical September/October this morning but am expecting some decent weather this afternoon. So in anticipation of that I shall shortly be hanging out the washing.
Tea will be something quick as I have cake decorating class tonight :T
Hugs and spooons all round. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Jaxx ......My advice on the DLA form is to read every question through twice and then again before you write anything beware some of the questions are asked twice in different parts of the form. I think that is to catch you out. If in doubt ask your GP,nurse, OT or SW if you have one to help you.
The bit I hate is the how far can you walk and how much time you need help with things....The first I asked my GP and the latter I just made a note of times for a week and averaged it out.
If it is your first application you may find that you are refused.
I decided to go to appeal for mine after the second time of being turned down. I was awarded it unanimously and it was backdated to when I first applied, but they still asked for extra information from the GP this year and this was my third application.......... be warned there is a long wait for appeals because of the ESA fiasco.

That's my nights done until Thursday, really looking forward to my bed. Had yummy HM tomatoe and basil soup last night, DS was also impressed, he can eat soup until it comes out of his ears.
JAXX I remember helping people fill out DLA forms, what a nightmare. Hope someone can help you
Have tried to keep up with the thread but can't remember a thing, so big hugs to all who need one. Off to bed in a mo then looking forward to enjoying this lovely weather. Tea is something made from chicken.
Have a good day all

Morning, morning, morning!
I have quite a nice day planned for my day off, meeting a friend for lunch in Ikea and then off to get our nails done in town. Haven't had my nails done for ages and said friend is going through a really horrible time so it will do us both the world of good.
Ironing was all done last night, this morning wm is on, lunches made for dh & dd's, kitchen cleaned while everyone else finishes getting ready. Not sure what is for tea tonight yet as we still have some lo roast chicken to use, will think of something for it.
Also need to pop round my mom's and pick up a litlle suitcase as dd1 is off on a residential trip with the school next week...argghhh! she's only 8 and will be away for 4 nights!
Anywho need to straighten my hair and make sure dd's look presentable for school.Grocery Challenge 112.20/250.00

OS? to be honest at the mo I cba to even think about it
I still have not managed to get through to CAB so Think I am going to have to fill the DLA forms in myself, anyone done these before? any good tips?
I used the benefits and work website http://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/
They have a very useful guide. It does cost 18 pounds for a years subscription but the guide really made me think about how my conditions affected me on a daily and nightly basis. Might I also suggest you start jotting down difficulties as and when they happen and keep a diary for a week or two. Also take a photocopy of what you have written!
Be warned but prepared that filling in the DLA form is very disheartening as generally we are positive and focus on what we can do, whereas this form focuses on what we cant do.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning all,
Bit grey looking here, but meant to be lovely later on, I have dd's bedding in the wm, and another 2 loads to do after that.
Did not get half of my jobs done yeaterday, so lots to do today, need to hoover from top to bottom, nip to the shop for a few bits, hoover car out, and get into the garden for a while, it really needs tidying up for the winter.
Yesterday I picked another 5 corgettes, and six tomatoes :T, that brings the total of tomatoes for this year up to 10:rotfl:, I have loads of green ones, which will hopefully ripen in this sun.
Yesterday dd and I loaded up my car with about 1/2 of the old bathroom junk and off we went to the tip, the car was full to burtsting, and when we got to the tip, the tip blokes stood around and watched us unload, perhaps they are no longer allowed to help you ? anyway dd and I did it, but got the giggles, dd is a pretty young thing, and their chins were almost on the floor looking at her :rotfl::rotfl:(still no offer of help though!!)
Went to see dad yesterday, who slept for the whole of our visit, they will hopefully be moving him to a nursing home this week, which is just around the corner, which will make it easier for all.
Dinner tonight is egg beans and chips, sometimes at the local shop they have cheap bacon bits so will have a look when I do down there.
DD id off to town with her 2 best boy mates this afternoon, they are lovely lads who really look after her and always walk her back to the station :T nice lads, who have been bought up well.
Little dog to the vets tonight, for her booster jabs and a check on her bum problem, which will be at least £60
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all
Gorgeous day today - our bedroom curtains just done in the WM - taking advantage of this week's good weather to wash everything I can.
Got a little girl to childmind part time for the next few weeks - she and DD a similar age and have veered between playing nicely and knocking spots of each other - oh, the joys of toddlerhood! :rotfl:
Still have tons of donated apples to stew and freeze; there are enough to make about 10 crumbles, unless I make mincemeat with some.
Off to hang out curtains and find something else to wash - see you later, hugs and kisses to whoever wants some.
