Nothing new to add over the weekend, but am hoping to start getting some of the expected mystery shopping payments in this week as my credit card bill is quite scary so far this month.

Nat don't worry about what your family say - mine are the same, they scoff at some of the things I do, mystery shopping for example they think isn't worth the time or effort but they like it when I come home with things I subsequently give them as part of their Christmas or Birthday presents. I just don't mention comping to them as it would get the same response, not won anything 'big' yet but a few books and some odd little bits and pieces of make up etc either get used to replace the old rubbish in my make up bag or if its things I wouldnt use on to ebay to knock something off my overall debt. End of the day it replaces some of the bad stuff in life by taking up the time you'd otherwise spend wallowing and when you win gives you something to be happy about!

I use the comps page on MSE, its great! They provide the answers and the links o all you have to do is enter. Highly reccommend Roboform, saves a lot of time.

I have pro version of roboform as I use it for all my passwords, for all sorts of things, not just comping. for me so worth it.

but anyone comping, you only need free version.

What comps site are you entering I just signed up to get me a ticket, any suggestions of other good ones to use will be greatly appreciated, on my 4 day week now and need to keep occupied but feet up at same time, so thought why not try my luck!!

I wouldn't bother with get me a ticket - you will get a lot of spam and possibly viruses.

Goto the main forum thread, and look down until you see Competitions. Click on that thread and have a good read through the first few sticky threads. They will explain everything, then go ahead and comp :)

    Morning all :hello:

Nat, sorry to hear about your rough time :( Chin up babe, people don't always understand... they didn't need to be so hurtful about it did they.
I know it sounds sad, but when I do things connected with MSE and this challenge it does help me feel better. I don't do comping but the other stuff I do like surveys etc always helps, suppose it's cos it makes me feel like I'm taking control of one of the aspects of my life that bothers me.. and I know to others this might sound a bit sad :o but I think you lot on here will 'get it' but it's almost like a bit of a sanctuary for me :o

Chin up hun, today's a new day xx

ps I have a headache so I'm feeling very sorry for myself! :o
  • Well I didn't choose the nickname "comper"ella for nothing ;) hehe... this forum is getting more and more like an AA meeting everyday

Huh, maybe I should start comping! I think I've always been scared of all the junk emails it would generate!

I spent pretty much all day Saturday ebay listing everything that wasn't nailed down. Actually, I downloaded the turbolister and did it through that. Scheduled most of them to start last night as I was out. Came home and none of them are listed and the Turbolister is blank . Now being new to TL I didn't know that it should have asked me to link it to my ebay account. I was logged on to ebay when I downloaded it so I just thought what I saw was normal! I even went back in yesterday and uploaded a few photos on the few that I had missed the night before (because it took me ALL DAY and I ran out of daylight!) and it was all still there. Then when I checked last night when I got home everything was gone  It was all the fiddly things that I'd had for ages and not got round to listing because it was awkward to photograph or I wasn't sure how to post it or because I always had better things to list and now I need to start all over again! All the postage I'd calculated for each item! All the descriptions Id written! All of it...gone!

Must learn to breathe through it but now I have a box of stuff at home and no listings on ebay !! Now I'm always one to see the positive in everything but I'm struggling with this one!

    Rant over.....

Oh nat thats so nasty :( i'll admit that my DH scoffed a bit at my new hobby . . . 14 months later and he loves to tell everyone who listens what *we* have won (I dont remember him filling out a single form though :rotfl:) Just ignore them and when your walking round in a new top from that £100 voucher for an online clothes site or watching the latest DVD release have a little smile to yourself ;)

Susie Sue, I have a specific email account with msn for my comping so my main email doesnt get clogged up with any spam should I have to sign up for their emails or I forget to tick a box. I also use my mobile number rather than my home number as I figure my mobile gets changed every 12-18 months so any phone calls I get will stop eventually :rotfl:

Had a sale on ebay but havent worked out profit yet, also waiting for payment on second item will work it all out and come back :D

Thanks jakes-mum, I already set up a separate hotmail account which I can use for comping and since I only have a mobile and the number hasn't changed in 15 years, I guess I could get a free O2 sim card and use that number! OK, I'll give comping a go - off to read the boards now to see where to start!
