  • DD2 started half term today (inset days added to next week's week off!) so gave her £10 which has to last the week and doesn't come out of the grocery budget. Took her round to her friend's house and on the way back passed by the little bakery which I always try to resist because a) it's very expensive and b) it's too nice and I can never decide what to get and get too much! Anyway went in and got some bread and a steak pie for my lunch. I only ate the middle and it was really nice. I had one of their rolls with it but I don't think the trip there was worth the £4.28 I spent!

Tea tonight is fish fingers in buns (with salad, tartare sauce and cheese slice - sort of a bit like a McD's fillet o'fish) - we all like this and it will be even nicer in the lovely bakery buns.

I treated myself to some lovely Aldi premium ham which was half price yesterday as it was dated 20 October. I LOVE that ham and even when half price it is still 88p for a 100g pack but it is wonderful!! I came into the kitchen before to find DD1 had fed it all to the puppies - she thought it was out of date.... This is what caused me to go to the bakery as I was missing out on my lovely lunch!!

Just going to look for a sticky gingerbread recipe to make for Halloween.

    Hi :)

Now up to £330.80/£380 and I can see that if I use my £5 off £40 Asda voucher next Weds I probably won't make my target.
But if I make the effort I don't think I'll be too far off...if...

Just made some flapjacks as I cannot bear to buy biscuits any more - too much £££ and for what? HM is definitely superior, shame I can't eat them :(

    Have a good weekend.
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

Adding £9.50 to my total...although this does include a Graphics tablet which I found in Tesco for 50p (last one) that sells on ebay for £15! Also stocked up on bottles of water (1 bottle reused 3-4 days so not too bad), some iron supplements, a nail brush and two dog leads, but I don't have any money apart from Grocery this month so those had to come out of it too!

Should still come in under budget at least :) I hope!

Decided to blow my budget this month at the local butchers in North Berwick rather than go for Donald Russell. It's got to be better than and of the supermarkets, and I'm hoping it's cheaper. If it doesn't work I'll be back to DR like a shot.

  • Budget has been blown this month, spent £47.60 after various money off vouchers (should have been £69.19) in s*insburys today and now all my money off vouchers for sainsburys have gone i'm going to stay away, unless of course they send me some more lovely £12 off £60 spends.

Anyway my kitchen cupboards, dining room sideboard, shelf in down stairs toilet and both freezers are fit to bursting, actually hubby commented on it this evening and said ' why the h£ll have you been shopping again':o.

Also this week i've recieved a box of washing powder to test, box of dishwasher tabs to test, free dog food and cat food from bzz ag£nts.

So hopefully next month i will manage on £150, we will see:p.

  • Almost a NSD for me today - I haven't actually spent but had to give DH £10 this morning

Budget well blown and still with over a week to go but I am generally happy knowing that I have spent less in the past few weeks than in previous months, even though I have spent a huge amount.
Looking forward to getting to grips with next months task, I may go weekly, I haven't decided yet!
