i've blown my budget :( not too bad tho as my budget is normally £200 i spent just under £20 in te$co last night i stocked up on bogof cheese and dishwasher salt and rinse agent that i didn't really need til next month so i'm gonna add them to next months budget (which means i'm nearly £20 into next montsh aswell :( ) i also got some reduced veg and reduced muffins, yougurts, milk, reduced crisps, fruit, eggs, bread, cheese, carrots. tomatoes, garlic bread and pizza so nothing too extreme and i know where i went wrong i sat thre 2 hrs of a parents evening then went to tesco at 9 after such along day i was starving and tired so just started grabbing stuff.

small change to the meal plan tonights tea now gonna be sausages with herby/buttery baby new taties (2 packs at 10p each) and peas :)

i have an appointment then i'll be freezing portions of mushrooms and carrots but i just remebered i forgot food bags :( i'll have 2 nip to poundland aswell :(

  • Well, still hanging on in there. Just went to co-op and bought a loaf of hovis (40p) and 2 packs of rolls (30p each), so thats a pound, leaving me the princely sum of £7.93 to see me through to next Thurs. I can do it as we are well stocked, but just can't say no to a bargain.

  • Hi,

Popped into the Orange shop while DD1 was training last night, came out £55.75 lighter.

I am feeling really annoyed with myself, there are no whole meals in there just milk, fruit, dairy, bread/wraps, nappies and a few other store cupboard bits... Sig has been updated.

Since my month is running until the 31st I will need to do 1 more big shop and we will no doubt need another fruit/milk shop too... I normally use mysupermarket, but they have changed their website around and (quite probably because we have a slow internet connection) I just cannot get to grips with it :(

Sorry guys, can't see the wood for the trees atm, feeling mightily stressed by RL events. On the + side I got a sainsburys brand match coupon for £2.09, I just need to remember to go instore and use it :rotfl:

    Best wishes :)

as i am sat here ds and dh are hacking up a pumpkin as a practice for halloween....oh the mess

If you google jack o lantern templates there are pdf's that you can print. I sellotaped them onto the pumpkin and then used a 1 prong corn on the cob handle (I cannot for the life of me think of the real name!) to perforate small holes along the edge of the template. You need to put the holes really close to one another, but this allows you to push the pieces through to the middle of the pumpkin.

Just had a quick look through my bookmarks and we used this site http://www.ehow.com/halloween/templates.html We needed to shrink the templates before printing as our pumpkins were small.
  • My plans have been thwarted by OH and I going down with a stomach virus. At the moment there is squash, carrots, potatoes, cabbage, tomatoes, onions, satsumas, bananas and apples looking at me and neither of us feel like eating them. I am going to force myself to start making some soup for the freezer this afternoon or the stuff will get wasted. I think I will make and freeze an apple puree to use in pies etc. Any ideas for satsumas? I have updated signature to reflect a spend on some comfort tomato soup from the corner shop. Sad or what!

Tessie bear, I usually pre-cook a gamon joint, they are easier to carve once cold. I usually use some slices for butties and freeze some slices for another meal. I dice the last part that I can't slice properly (not without losing a finger hee hee!) to use in pasta sauces or as topping on HM pizza. I like the sound of ham and chicken pie, off to find a recipe now, yummy!
