Been and done our weekly shop today, local farm shop is great for our veggies and also managed to get a 4pack of toilet roll for a quid which is cheap as chips since as*a is a few pence over that! Spent a grand total of £8.65 in there. Went to As*a for other bits and bobs, including cat food for about a week and a half = £47.24. Not too bad as I also bought a air wick reed diffuser.. not on my list but it was half price and I hate my house stinking, candles dont last long enough!on the road to recovery..:o0

Just popping in to report the first spend of the new month. Spent £5.99 at Sainzs on milk 3 for £3, 4 activia snack pots for £1, pack of chinese snacks whoopsied to 40p, and GF cornflakes for £1.49. Then nipped into our local shop and bought 2 tins of Millicano coffee as they're only £1.99 atm, B1G2F bags of crisps, 3 pack of Yazoo drinks for 49p, 6 pack of diet P*psi because I feel ill and this the only thing I know will boost me a bit and a pack of 4 Snickers for a £1 ready for our weekend dayout walking picnic. So spent £14.14 on alot of junk basically, but don't do it very often.
Dinner tonight is spicy salmon with a rice salad for me and OH, DD can have a veggie burger with her salad.
Tomorrow is big shop day at T*sco & A*di. Planning on keeping it down to about £60.Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)

OH and I have spent the last month saving all of our receipts (for everything, fuel, bus, groceries) and my grocery bill has come out at a whopping £450 :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:. Even worse...my cupboards are bare...really honestly bare
Im so :mad::mad::mad::mad: with myself right now, there is no need for us to be spending that kind of money on food. We are OH, Myself and 11 month old DS (who frankly noms more fruit than a chimp!) 3 dogs, and two cats.
So, I am going to head up to the grocery challenge and set us a target, and spend the weekend baking bread/cakes/pizzas biccies making yoghurt and setting up a realistic budget.
Ooooh...I really could slap myself right now.

I'd like to join in please.
I'll try for £320 for the month for the three of us. I would like it to be less, but baby steps to start with.0 -
we used to be a bit like that but there's only me and DH, one dog and one cat. I've tried the GC a few times and [STRIKE]failed[/STRIKE] not quite met my target, but I managed in September. I have to say posting on the GC thread really helped me to focus
Good luck and see you on the GC thread
cheers

Hi All,
After last months success please can i be included in this months challenge
£160 budget for 2 adults (and baby but she is breast fed at the moment) all food and cleaning items but no take aways/treats
Our month runs from the 25th of the month so i have already had the first Mr T delivery and went into Mr T in town today to take advantage of the b1g2f offer on cheese and the voucher for £3.50 tin of quality street for Christmas
This leaves us with £82.35 for the rest of the month.
I am meal planning again and should have 80% of staples here so fingers crossed we will be able to do another month under budget
