Been to Aldi and done a biggish shop which I hope will last a good few weeks. Mums picked up some staples like porridge oats and chickpeas that my Aldi doesn't stock. Really going to use the freezer and cupboards this month and limit myself now to fresh bits like milk and veg. Spent £47.April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£1500

After joining September late on, we did really well for our first attempt. We used to spend £100 per week but we are going to try for a total spend of £320 for the 4 weeks between payday.
Already got quite a lot of food frozen as made a large batch of chilli & bolognese with the shop I did two weeks back.0 -
Popped into FarmF00ds on the way home from work for frozen leeks and ended up spending £10.50! Did get some bargins including 3 loaves for £2, crisps, prawn crackers, pizza, ham, potato croquettes and the leeks I went in for originally:) It was first time ever in FF and I will definately be going back.. i was also impressed by how clean and tidy it was:rotfl:
However, was so hot this evening that I didn't fancy anything on the meal plan and DH persuaded me to get a chinese.:o He offered to pay for it out of how winnings on a horse today but he hasn't had much lately so I didn't want to deprive him of his little spends, especially since he wants to put it towards a winter coat he has his eye on.

Hi all - lost track of September (as usual - so rubbish :rotfl:)
I don't think I've gone over as my budget was £300 and I made it high so it would be easy
Anyway, onwards and upwards. I'm going to go for £200 for October. My reasoning is 1) I have loads of nappies in for my oldest and youngest 2) I have millions of baby wipes 3) I have loads of free cereal, soup and cheap Sacla sauces from using coupons. So breakfast is sorted I have loads of choices for the soup (campbells condensed so can be used for Pasta bakes etc). Sorry for wafflingPart time GCer, NSDer, Comper and (Bad)FlyladyA big shot is just a little shot that kept shooting ...0 -
Hi Everyone.
