  • Could I join in please - I have lots of debt and could do with spending less on groceries - there are 5 of us plus a cat.
I have no idea what I spend probably in the region of £30 daily - also an issue of where I spend - Marks and Spencer is very close to work so I usually pop in most evenings

I would like to aim for £500 in October and see how it goes with that so please be gentle with me if I do go over - it is my birthday on 29th so I will have to buy cakes for the office

Can you put me down for £400 again it keeps me on track to have to confess all my spends and makes me think before I go to shops.
  • Totals done to here

    Welcome to the new people

mrs mum - would it be cheaper to make cupcakes and give them a nice icing of something on the top rather than have to go out and buy something, ignore me if I'm talking rubbish ;]

Hi, I'm joining in again this month as it helps to keep me focussed on my spending. I would like to have £485 as my October total. This is for 2 Adults, 3 children, 1 dog, 2 cats and 2 hamsters. Thanks to all who keep this thread going, it's much appreciated.:)
  • I am trying to stick to a budget of £50 per week for 2 adults (babe is getting his food for free at the moment). This is the 1st time I've ever used a forum / thread thingy so apologies if I've not done this right.

We have been ashamedly spending £80 - £90 per week on online groceries not including the odd pizza delivery at £15 a pop. Last week I spent £51.84 as I was very careful and switched from Ocado to Tesco.

I have done a full cupboard/fridge/freezer audit (blackcurrant jelly from 2006? Oh dear!!) and am ready for the challenge.

    Kaloloke.
I am 56 years old with 3 cats and a beautiful view of the beach
  • Just been going through the cupboard - found some crystalized ginger unopened - use by Nov 2002

    1. should I use it?

    2. What should I do with it?

I must have beeen going through a curry from scratch phase or ginger cake phase back then

I used to make lots of cakes and home cooking/baking - then I had kids...
