Thanks to the lovelies who run this thread:D
Can I be put down for £425 again this month. Its the amount we budget for and is for Me, DH, DDs (8 & 7) plus the dog. Woof eats Hills Science Plan as her system seems to work well with it, did try putting her on supermarket own stuff but she ended up with a nasty absess :(that required a lot of treatment, since switching back had no more problems. My budget is for everything food/household/smellies/takeaway/booze etc.
I am planning on doing a trip to the market on Saturday to get fruit and veggies for the week to compare prices with supermarket.0 -
Hi guys
Just updated my spend over the weekend - turns out while I thought I was being really good buying a weeks shopping for £33, I erm... forgot the cats food, litter, milk and toilet roll :rotfl: Only £21.87 spent though so am still pleased with my total so far!
Meals are planned until tomorrow night - we are having salmon and mushroom pasta tonight and shepherd's pie with two mash topping tomorrow nightI will probably go shopping on Weds after work and make Sweet and Sour chicken (as it's quick and easy) on Weds night

Went to Sainsbobs this morning and spent £19 on dog food (on offer at 30% off so stocked up), Puppy pads, Campbells soup (free;)), bagels, onions, basics eggs, Cravendale and basics mash. I was horrified at how much stuff has gone up in just ONE week!!! The basics mash was 19p a couple of weeks ago, then it went to 29p last Monday and today it is 39p. The Sainsburys irish sausages were 95p on Friday and this morning they have gone up to £1.15 - I didn't buy any as didn't really need them for this week's meal plan.
I went to go to Farmfoods after Sainsbobs to stock up on bread and fish and it was closed down for refurbishment until 7 October!!!!! There isn't another one near so I will have to pay supermarket price for bread unless I can get it reduced in the local Tesco. I will also miss the Youngs beer battered fish.
I have a £6 off £40 till spit from Tesco so will use that at the weekend along with yesterday's Daily Mail £5 off £40 voucher. I was going to go today but think I will wait as I don't actually need anything for the meal plan for a couple of days yet.
Lunch today will be Anglesey eggs - I saw the Hairy Bikers make this yesterday and it looked fab! Kids wouldn't eat it so I have a little bit of mash left over from yesterday's lunch, a few frozen leeks and I will boil and egg and make a little bit of cheese sauce - really looking forward to it. Dinner is leftover roast pork made into a stir fry with rice.Jane

First timer here! Not sure on our normal total spends so will have a guestimate of £300 please.
That's for me and the boyfriend so it is definitely doable
Our months already started - will run from 24th September to 22nd October.
So far £70.69/£300
We did a big online shop from Mr T which is set to arrive anytime now and should see us through for at least a week and a half!0 -
Hi,
Please could I be put down for £475 for October, we've got dd's birthday at the beginning of the month and visitors for 3 of the weekends I think, hence the higher budget (even though I managed to spend pretty much that in Sept, without too many excuses)
So now have to try harder
Thank you very much to everyone who keeps the thread going0 -
Hi all
A very big thanks to all that keep this thread going:j, I find it really helps focus the mind.
Haven't done too well the last two months so could we be put down for £400 this months please and I will try my bestest:D, as have a big birthday to cater for and family staying over.
Thanks again xMoving towards a life that is more relaxed and kinder to the environment (embracing my inner hippy:D) .:j0 -
Thanks again for the thread. It's a realy boost. Can I be included for £140 for the two of us please? Have gone a bit over in Sept as my Dsis came to stay for a few days. Not done too badly though, just lost track a bit. Freezer is quite well stocked, as are cupboards. I have a veggie box being delivered on Thurs for the first time here so I'll see what it's like.
Good luck all

I'd really like to join this challenge althought I'm a bit of a novice at this MSE, I know our biggest expenditure through the month is on groceries and it's getting out of hand to be fair!
I think I'd like to set my target for £235. this is for me and my partner and our cat.
We went to a loacal wholesale butchers the other week and have stocked up on loads of meat which is in the freezer, we have loads of dried stuff ie past and rice to use up. Just bought milk and bread today so shouldnt technically spend on groceries for the rest of the week. I get paid 28th of the month so will try and go 28th to 28th if thats alright.
Good Luck everyone!!on the road to recovery..:o0
