Been reading your thread and it's v inspiring!
If you're not sure what order to tackle CCs in, try this
https://www.whatsthecost.com/snowball.aspx
It's a snowball calculator that helps you work out which debt to pay off first to speed up your debt reduction. You'll need your interest rates for each card, balance and minimum payment info to hand, and also decide how much money you can throw at your debt each month.
The calculator will then work out what order to pay your debts in to clear them the quickest, and show you how quickly you can pay them off."Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo
"Do not wait; the time will never be "just right." Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along." Napoleon Hill0 -
Hi Allybee, thanks for popping in
I'm quite humbled that you find my ramblings inspiring, thank you
Thanks also for the link. I knew there was a snowball calculator somewhere, but I can never find it when I want it, so now I can use it whenever I feel like!
I've had a look tonight, and it's saying 48 months to settle all the CCs up based on my current payments. I'm very hopeful that I can improve on this as we have a loan which will finish in two years and the payments from this will be re-routed to the cards...just don't want to think that far ahead yet though as I find it demotivating!
My focus is firmly on the target card at the mo...I will beat it into submission :rotfl:

I'm feeling a bit down today, mainly because OH is now beginning to feel the effects of me tightening up on the money front and he's grumpy. He obviously accepts this needs to be done, but doesn't want it to be done, iyswim
.
I've kind of had to give myself a good talking to and tell myself it's not personal, but I find it really hard always being the one to say no, I feel like I'm the fun police. Hey ho, in the long run this WILL be worth it.
Right, onward and upward, there's work to be done
I'll be back in a mo with my list for the day.Full LBM 26 Sept 110 -
Hi Been
I'm sure it is hard being the baddy in it and having to say no. I struggle to say no, worrying I'm letting people down etc.
You're doing the right thing though, looking forward to seeing your list for todayJune 2007 Debt: £16,000
Oct 2011 Debt: £9818
July 2012 Debt: £8099 (HSBC Loan, £300 O/D)
Baby Savings: £500/£1000
New Kitchen Savings: £1500/£35000 -
Here's my list for today:
- Check bank (didn't do this yesterday )
- All meals from stores
- Prep mealplan for next week (shopping tomorrow)
- Find some passport photos (instead of getting new ones) for season ticket on the train
- Buy season ticket for the train
- Review cash balances
- Do some Av0n work to make sure I have as much commission as possible
I'm hoping to make another small overpayment (£1) to the T3sc0 card today, but this will depend on the projected month end bank balance. I had an unexpected spend yesterday of about £20 for some tools to do a repair to the car. I now need to factor this in before making any further unplanned payments.
I also need to check my cash balances as my purse appears to be empty.
Best get cracking

I've just found out that I'm going to be charged £25 for exceeding my OD limit (by £11) last July  Why didn't they do it at the time, I wasn't LBM-ish then!
The little bit of spare I was beginning to get together has now gone
One step forward, two back...rant...rant!!!

It seems to have been a day of downers, just topped off by my cat being sick over my book shelves:mad: I've just cleaned it all up, so I think I'll just put today behind me and start afresh tomorrow.
