Hi Mandragora, thanks for dropping in
No luck with freecycle so far, I guess it's just luck and timing, but I'll keep trying.
Thanks for your suggestion about the school, I'll see how I can follow this up. I've often wondered about what happens to lost property, it seems such a waste that it's not advertised for sale even just to help fill the school coffers!

and then we are committed to (or want to spend on)
- sunday lunch out for family birthday, up to - £30 (this will depend on who will be coming, OH and DS will be elsewhere, and I'm waiting to find out what both DDs will be doing)
- OH and DS, charity event - £17
, let's hope it lasts, somehow

I want to update the 'cash' position now that most of the weekend is over.
the lunch out was £10 (only me in the end)
£5 each to DDs as contribution towards their lunches/fuel = £10
£2 to DD2 for bus fare
Total actual spend = £22
So that now leaves me with £12.08 (I think). Will have to check the actual amount of cash in my purse. This will need to last us until Thursday evening. I think it's doable
.

Current position on other weekly spends:
sorry if this is boring, but it helps me keep track of where I am with things
Food (budget £400pm) spent £176.85, leaves £223.15 or £44.63/week for the next 5 weeks
Clothes (budget £30pm) no spend
Petrol/Trains (budget £340pm) spent £51 and drawn £17 in cash = £68 in total, leaves £68/week for 4 weeks (although we need to decide when to buy the monthly train ticket)

Hi Been
Thought I would pop in and say hello. It seems to me that you are making a big effort to clear the debt and this is impressive. Thanks for posting.
I will keep an eye on your diary and post from time to time.
You seem very motivated and organised. Good for you! :TJune 16 Mortgage Amount £82,896.15

Hi Bonnington and welcome to the thread
Thanks for saying I seem organised, I'd like to think I am, but I sometimes wonder, especially when I'm running around like a headless chicken in the mornings trying to get everyone out on time.
Good luck with the exercise and I look forward to seeing your posts

Quick update:
on food budget - spent £4.90 this evening buying stuff for packed lunches tomorrow, so this reduces the available cash this week to £39.73. We'll be going to A1di on the way home from work tomorrow, so spends must not exceed this. I'll need to get OH to do a mealplan for the week before we get to the shop.
on petrol/public transport - have given DS £5 to get bus to work placement tomorrow, cash available is now £12.Full LBM 26 Sept 110 -
I've now finished the final transfers from the sale of the car. I'm sure some readers won't agree with what follows, but we (OH and I) feel this is right for our family, so
£150 has gone to the emergency fund
£500 has been put aside in case we find we can't manage with just the one car, this is on the proviso that should we not buy a second car in the next three months, then it will be paid off the CC
£500 to cover Christmas
Knowing this money is there is a weight off my mind and will keep me better focused on the long term debt busting

Thanks Tabby
. TBH it's pretty much all I can think about at the moment, think I've become a bit obsessive :rotfl:.
