I feel very :money:tonight! When we were driving home it became obvious that the fuel was really low, but OH wanted to wait til tomorrow (payday
) to fill up. Thing is, I needed to run an errand tonight, which I would normally drive to. It's about 2.5 miles away and mostly uphill. So, in true MSE style (and probably a with a hint of stupidity :rotfl:), I walked there and back!
Weather was lovely, I got some exercise and saved a bit of petrol as well...who could ask for more :rotfl:.

Hi Aiming High, another visitor yaaay
.
Thanks for the thumbs up about the car, I know you're right!
Re the planned payment, I've pretty much decided to pay off as much as possible against our T3sc0 CC, which is one of the cards in the high APR bracket. It won't clear the whole balance, but should bring it down to around £1k. It's currently over £4k. At least will make it more manageable and we can then continue to make overpayments till we've killed it :rotfl:.
The 0% card we have is new to us, so we've only recently completed the balance transfer, so no scope to put anything else there at the mo.

Have you looked on free cycle for football boots? Kids grow so quickly, you may get a pair on there, and can offer your son's old ones to someone else. Good luck with the budgeting.Bern :j0

At least it's going of one with APR, better in the long run, even though it's not wiped out, it will be a clearer end to the finishing line. Well done on walking. :T I've done my exercise for the month in the garden today. LOLYou have to start to finish.

Ah, the garden...otherwise known as the jungle here! I love the idea of gardening, but am pretty carp at actually getting round to do anything...when all the debt has gone, I think I'll get myself a gardener :rotfl:Full LBM 26 Sept 110 -
Yay :j, it's payday at last...now I can really get started on the debt busting plans
.
Main activities for today will be to put the allotted amount of petrol in the car, draw the cash out of the bank for the week and call into C0stc0 on the way home from work to get some much-needed shopping. (We use C0stc0 to do a monthly shop and then rebag everything into small portions and freeze, we then top up at A1di weekly with the basics.)

I've just updated my to do list on the small things thread, so as before, I'm cheating and copying to my diary too
- Check bank
- Take packed lunch to work
- Drink water from chiller instead of buying a drink
- All other meals from stores
- HC and line dry in sunshine
- Post V5 slip to DVLA (should've done this earlier in the week
)
- Buy stamps
- Buy birthday card (hopefully from cheaper range at Cl1nt0ns)
- Draw out cash for the week (all bar £4 already effectively 'spent'
)
- Put petrol in the car, but keep within budget
- Monthly shop at C0stc0
- Check out monthly train ticket to see if it's cheaper than taking the car to work
- Enjoy the sunshine

I've had a quick look at train fares this morning, and it would be £82 each for 5 weeks. We'd need to buy two (me and OH) but I still think this will save us a bit more money than driving in every day.
We'll need to find some on-street parking near the station (we live about 10-15 mins away) that's not restricted, so need to do a little recce on the weekend to see if it's going to be feasible.
Fingers crossed, this could be another positive move :T.
