  • You want to see me with my financial spreadsheet, totally obsessed with it. However it has shown me that I can pay one of my credit cards off by the end of November so it's a good obsession.:j

  • Just logging lunchtime spends - £1.38 in B00ts, taken from 'cash' budget (got to find a better name for this!), leaving me with £10.70 til Thursday...checked and that's what's in my purse too - the system works :D.

I've turned down the offer of choccie as I wasn't prepared to part with my 70p and definitely wasn't going to break into the £10 note :rotfl:. Woo hoo :money:.

Just checked the bank and all is looking as expected. Don't want to dwell on it, but £603.05 has gone out of my account to service the non-target CCs , and there's still more to come :eek:. How scary is that :o.

  • A few spends to update:

food - I was pleased with our A1di shop as we managed to keep to £37.80 which is £1.93 less than our budget for the week :)

petrol - we needed to top up today. OH spent about £63, which is actually all of next week's budget :(. It's becoming very obvious and absolutely necessary that we start using the train, as there's no way our budget will last the month otherwise.

I'll update both of these items on my spreadsheet once they clear the bank.

  • Hi Been,

    Thanks for your post today.

I think of it this way with the chocolate. As well as not breaking into a £10 note, you also cut down on the calories.
I know I used to buy chocolate every day at work as a boost. IT was good, but was costing me money and inches around my waist.

I always assumed the train was quite expensive. I remember using it to travel to work years ago and it was about 3 times more expensive than the bus.

I had to top up with petrol the other day and it was £63. As we live in a town and not in a big city, the price is 3p per litre dearer. This is at T3sc0.

    Keep up the good work!

  • I've finally decided/realised cash is king, my problem has always been sticking it on the credit card then not paying it back, I'm very good at balance transferring however!!
Like you say Been it's amazing how you suddenly don't want to spend anything when it means breaking into a note.

  • I have a day off work today, although it's already hectic!

I had to be up early to drop OH at the station as I need the car today to take DS to the dentist. Had a rubbish night's sleep last night due to a recurring annoying little health issue so have been to the drs this morning to get some meds. Just back now and chivvying DS along so we can be out of here by 11. After that, it's drop DS at his work placement.

Aside from my full time job, I also do Av0n, so will be heading out this afternoon to do some prospecting with another Av0n lady. Then back to the station to pick up OH and then off to see one of my reps!!

Told you it was hectic :D. I love doing Av0n though, so at least it'll be a fun afternoon :).

    Hi Bonnington

I used to be awful for buying chocolate, and would often eat two bars a day , but I have now cut that down. Unfortunately I think the damage is already done, and I could do with losing half to 3/4s of a stone. To make matters worse, my sister has given me a bag of clothes she no longer wants, and there are about 10 pairs of jeans in there and I can only fit (just!) into one pair :(. If ever there was an incentive to shift a few pounds, this is it....I've never owned more than two pairs of jeans at any one time, 10 pairs that fit would be amazing :D.

I find the children are the same too - they often ask me if I have any change for them to go out, but when I say where's your pocket money they always say they don't want to spend the note :rotfl:

I need to update today's spends, so will be back later with some numbers.

  • Update on spends:

As of Tuesday I had £10.70 (cash) and £17 (fuel) in my purse. Today I'm down to £4.83 and I can't quite balance this to my spends . The things I can remember are:

    stamps £1.38
Bus fares for DS £9.40 (should be able to reclaim some of this)
Train for OH £10 (was less than this, but I won't see any of the change :()
    Spends today £1.69
    Total £22.47

So that should leave me with £5.23, but somewhere I've 'lost' 40p. Not worth stressing over, but frustrating not being able to remember what I spent it on .

I think the £4.83 will be enough to keep us going til the end of tomorrow.
