I have some to dos on my mind, but I'm not sure whether I'll get them all done today, they're more likely to be spread across the week.
I need to- Check bank and update projected end of month balance - done
- Update cash balances - done
- Sort mealplan for the week with OH - done
- Food shop - done
- Find out how to reclaim DS' bus fares from last week
- Sort out photos for train tickets - done
- Re-join the library
Just looking back over my list from the beginning of the week, there are still a few things outstanding, the most important one being to reclaim DS' bus fares. Must get this sorted today. I also have a cheque to bank from one of my Av0n customers, so will do that lunchtime.
Cash in my purse = £4.21, to last till the end of tomorrow. I think DS will need £2 tonight for football practice, but other than that, I'm not aware of anything else.
No sign of the insurance refund yet, wish it would hurry up!

Ha! Famous last words, DS now needs £2 for the gym too, so that's £4 gone. He's working really hard on his fitness at the moment, so I don't want to demotivate him by saying no. Anyway, he's saved me from myself as I would probably have spent it on chocolate
.
Just checked bank, and still looking at £17 over OD by month end. I'm not worried yet though, as I think I'll be able to cover it as I'll keep a little bit of money back each week from our cash spends...just don't tell OH.

Hi Been,
Hope the train isn't too bad. How many days are you travelling by train during the week?
I used to travel to work by train but it was twice as expensive as the bus.
You sound like my wife with the cooking side. She says she can't really be bothered to cook. She's on holiday from work this week so should be a little motivated. Although being half term in Scotland, my son & daughter, teenagers, are at home also.June 16 Mortgage Amount £82,896.15

Hi Bonnington, nice to see you
We're doing Monday-Friday on the train, and so far it's working out fine. It's not too busy at the moment, we're able to get seats and the journey takes about 30 mins, which is quicker than driving. I guess as we get closer to Christmas it will be busier, but that's ok.
The bus isn't really an option as it takes too long. I also hate buses since one of them hit my car a few years ago...and got away with it .
I think on the cooking side, the arrangement works for us. My OH is a very good cook, whereas I'm not. So he does all the cooking, I do all the laundry/ironing and then we share the rest of the housework.

I was thinking about the potential £17 over OD I'm expecting my the end of the month and have realised that there should be some savings to be made on the dinner money budget as the kids have half term soon. I'll have a look at this today to see if the budget can be balanced
.
Lunchtime today we're going to use a Gr0up0n voucher I have (bought pre-LBM) for a treat - cake and hot chocolate in a local cafe
. I only have 21p left in my purse, so this will be nice
.
I also need to check cash balances and then draw the cash out for next week later this evening.

So after checking dinner money budget, I've found it's just the right amount...£17 which will now balance the budget, it's good to be back in balance again
Enjoyed a nice, free coffee lunchtime courtesy of my voucher and I can now smell home cooked cottage pie drifting from the kitchen...nom
We've stuck religiously to the mealplan this week, which I'm pleased about, especially as we had the hiccup with the food overspend earlier in the week.
Looking forward to the weekend and a lie in after getting the early train to work all week

Cash Budgets Update
Item - Budget - Spent - Balance
Food - £400 - £286.76 - £113.24 = to cover 3 more shopping trips, so £37.75 per trip
Travel - £340 - £298.84 - £41.16 = I will need to by one weekly train ticket at £20, so leaving £21 for petrol. There's currently about 3/4s of a tank of petrol, so we *might* just make it to month-end.
Clothes - £30 - no spend
Cash - £275 - £155 - £120 = £40pw left
So far, the demands on this week's cash budget are:
football subs - £2
kids pocket money - £10
various club fees - £10
total - £22, leaving £18
I suspect OH will want some of this as it's my birthday tomorrow, although I've said no presents, just cards.
Still no sign of check from insurance refund....hurry up!!

Today OH has been looking for a better internet and call package. Without too much effort (well, on my part
), we have gone from approx £45pm to £27.50 :T . This should take effect next month and is most welcome!
I've also had a look at the latest balance on the T3sc0 card, which now stands at £1,052, but interest still needs to go on. Statement date is 23rd...oooooh, I wish the insurance refund would hurry up.
In a matter of hours, I lost track of our 'cash' spends . Things I can remember are:
gave OH £20 (was expecting change but not seen it yet )
pocket money - £10
bus fares - £3
bottle of Piriton - £4.98
cakes for work - £3 something
Total - £40.98  , so no money left for the week
I've been lucky enough to receive some birthday money, so will sub us with this, although we're going to have a takeaway tonight to celebrate my birthday
