URGENT HELP regarding diesel in my car

It all depends on the person's circumstances, until a few years ago I was happy to give people lifts as a favour and maybe take a couple of £ if they insisted but these days they would have to pay for every drop of fuel or I would be struggling for the rest of the week.
I don't consider asking for the full amount to be "ripping off a mate" and I good mate would not expect you to leave yourself short.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -

If the company don't pay a reasonable mileage charge then you can claim the tax back on the difference.

Here we go. Another one who doesn't understand the meaning of a rip off.
Offering to give up your time to drive someone 80 miles in your own car for £30 is not a rip off.
It's coming across that you don't seem to like this person who's offered to take her for £30. Instead of causing trouble, perhaps you should just butt out and leave them to it, as it doesn't appear to have anything to do with you.
excuss me i do understand someone who being riped off and i also understand when someone being rude. i didnt come on here to be spoken to like that so i would appriecate that.
weather i like this person or not just finding out the facts and the facts are will cost £16ish pound for the whole trip the way you would do it is charge them £16 for the trip and keep the rest for inconvience well thats your choice. well you do things for your mates if they need help dont you if not i certainly wouldnt like to be your friend. and unfortunately i wont be butting out.0 -
Well if it was me that had a mate willing to spend several hours taking me on an 80 mile round trip using their transport on a regular basis I'd be ashamed at only paying them £30 to be honest
It's not just about the money0 -
It is a rip off because under the other persons insurance they are not allowed to make a profit on car sharing/giving someone a lift. Costs can only be fuel costs and not wear & tear.
Could always 'bubble' the 'mate' for hiring for profit. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

80 miles would cost less than a tenner at 50 to the gallon. Depends on what car it is.0

i only charge her for the fuel i use to take her another people charges her 2x the amount she pays and gaining a profit of £15.0 -
So wouldn't it be best for you to run her in future ? or doesn't she want you to take her any more ?michelleukleicester wrote: »i only charge her for the fuel i use to take her another people charges her 2x the amount she pays and gaining a profit of £15.It's not just about the money0 -
So why is she even asking a different person to take her? Perhaps she can't bear to be stuck in the same car as you listening to you !!!!! about everyone? I am sick of you after just 2 minutes of reading your bitter comments about this person who's charging £30 who you're obviously jealous of. I'll say it again, it's got NOTHING to do with you what those two arrange between themselves, you're just trying to cause trouble and need to grow up. And start listening. Just because YOU choose to undercharge doesn't mean everyone has to.michelleukleicester wrote: »i dont want to make a profit out of my friend why would i she only uses 3 hours of my time thats it. and thats 2 times a month not much of a problem for a mate hey0
