  • finally got error message on small dump memory and copied it below.

On Sun 02/10/2011 22:22:52 GMT your computer crashed
    crash dump file: C:\windows\Minidump\Mini100211-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: win32k.sys (win32k+0x1552CA)
    Bugcheck code: 0x1000008E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFFFFFBF9552CA, 0xFFFFFFFFAD77DC00, 0x0)
    Error: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M
    file path: C:\windows\system32\win32k.sys
    product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
    company: Microsoft Corporation
    description: Multi-User Win32 Driver
Bug check description: This indicates that a kernel-mode program generated an exception which the error handler did not catch.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
The crash took place in a standard Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver on your system which cannot be identified at this time.

Over on the right, click to download latest version,

    http://filehippo.com/download_speccy/

install and run it and it will show you which video - graphics card you have, could you post the make and model of it

Before that, you could run windows update and check for optional updates to see if it is listed there

    Age and make.

    XP 2000

Bought it in erm, 2002 I think now. Had 1GB installed into its memory as only had 256 before a year ago, the computer man at the shop installed the extra memory for me, as I dont know enough about that to trust myself to install stuff to the insides of machine myself.

Yes I guess its quite old, but its got a new head, keyboard, but body is aging accept for new bits installed to its insides. Sorry I mean head mean screen.

compaq pressario machine machine make. Not a laptop. Oh and I recently bought a new network printer. and connected that up to it and husbands machine to.
