If I leave my PC without touching it for a while, I can then go back on it, be in middle of something and then all of a sudden it shuts down completely and reboots, looked on internet, cant find any answers.
I understand hibernate mode is when the screen closes but with mine the entire system closes down and then I have to wait for everything to load up again.
How can I stop this?

The first thing you need to do is to stop it from restarting when it crashes. That way you can view the BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death), note down the error codes and post them back here.
To stop auto-restart, look here. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/tipstricks/ht/disautorestart.htm0 -
Before doing that I would just check in the Power Options tab of the control panel that the 'turn off harddrives' option is set at never under the Power Schemes tab. This is presuming you are running Win XP.0

The symptom you describe can often be caused by overheating. Have you recently taken the side off the PC and blown out with a can of compressed air all the fluff, dirt, hair, dead mice, etc, which can accumulate after years of use? (The best place to do this is outside the house, when it's dry! Be particularly attentive near the various fans.)
Maybe also run a program called CoreTemp, which may give you an idea of the temperatures of various components inside your PC.0 -
Graphic card drivers as well0

And whilst you have it open to tinker inside, re-seat the memory cards - the heat and cool thermal expansion and contraction although minimal can aggrevate poorly seated cards. BSOD/reboot is typically a hardware fault these days.0

I did get the blue screen and this is what the BIOS said, I am not up on BIOS side so just wrote out everything that came up, to me was just a load of numbers really
It said disable bio memory caching shadowing. Then all these numbers.

A couple of things which may help
Who Crashed
http://www.resplendence.com/whocrashed
It has instructions on the page
Or
Blue Screen View
The download link is near the bottom, and the full install is probably easier as it has the uninstall support

This is all I get with the program.
