All depends on where in the country the person is.

As we know, some places are up, some are down, some ad down 30%, some are up 10%, etc etc.

If he lived in the NE, he'd beaten his target already.

Without being disrespectful there isn't an STR who says otherwise (see thread title).

Didn't you sell to rent last year Pimperne1? ;)

Well I bought a couple of flats in 2007 which have dropped in value. How's that?

Though you have repeatedly claimed that this doesn't count as a financial loss as the money you invested was profit from another endevour.

    Bonkers!

I meant lifetime trackers rather than fixed for a few years. We bought a house in Feb 2008 and although the value has fallen we have been compensated by the rental profit (the mortgage is only 0.38% above boe base rate).

I understand about the hassle, we won't be buying any more residential investments, although we are going to explore investing in commercial property in the future.

Yeah, I appreciate what you meant. My PPR, which I wanted to sell but couldn't get the price I wanted, is now let and is on an absolute cracking tracker with my lender. They have allowed me to rent it out for 2 years and stay on the same rate. Taxman is going to get a bumper amount from me next year though.

Having said that my other two properties are doing really well as regards value and rent (and someone is paying £1500 pcm for my PPR for which the mortgage is now around £150 pcm). Not gloating (although it wouldn't be an HPI website if someone didn't make the accusation) just that anyone who can't sell should consider Let to Buy.

That's why they got banned from several other sites, for the constant & boring circular arguments.

Circular arguments. Thats a very apt phrase.

The bullish way. Rinse, rewind, repeat.

The sad thing isn't that insistence on using simplistic readily discredited arguments. Its using them again and again and again despite the fact that they have already been discredited.

Indeed it did get Pimp banned from creditcrunch.
One of the most open, tolerant and Anti-Moderation HPC websites on the net.

I don't even think Trolling is the right word for it.
I don't think derision and contempt is the outcome Trolls are looking for.

Well, he hasn't been PPR'd from this site ~ whereas you have.

Evidently the MSE mods know what they're doing.
If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.

Given that your/heathcotes and Pimperne1s first meaningless obsessive thread on MSE was deleted, I would have to say the Mods do a sterling job myself.

Naturally your principled position on Moderation has changed somewhat, since after MSE, you've really got nowhere else to go, have you? :rotfl:

Yes but the fixes have now ended and I only make a very small profit on both of them now. Going to bite the bullet next year and sell them as they are a bit of hassle to me (I am the only landlord interested in keeping the 20 or so flats external stuff up together and looking good so I spend a day a month in summer just grass cutting etc). The upside is that I bought one from my daughter to move her up market so her potential loss is now my loss and that's good news as I can afford it.

    Bloody hell,

You bought off your daughter? Meaning by my rough guestimates, you must be at least 40 years old. Probably 50 plus.

    Surprised me.

Just one look at your posting history suggests you not only went on to create yet another new thread with another HPC link in it, but you also have all these:

    This:

That's just from the first page. That excludes this thread and the extra thread you promptly furnished us with after this.

    Seriously, you are 40/50+?

Fortunately, unlike youself, I obey forum rules and have no fear of being PPR'd. :A
