The typical STR attitude
Comments

I somehow think your attitude would be different if the guy was actually lucky in his gamble to sell his house and hope to jump back on after taking a healthy profit. What I am saying is those that STRd back in 2002 to 2006 might not have made the good decision they thought at the time and trying to prove they are right now is pretty funny.
Contrary to what Geneer says I am not a STR.
Yes, and seriously....how many times have you told us?
You have hindsight. Well done. But you didn't do too well either. I'm not knocking you for that, my shares have been wiped out to the tune of around 60% down now, so I'm not laughing at anyone, and neither am going to pretend it's great that I'm 60% down as I can buy cheaper now, and lose some more over the next few weeks.
It's pretty clear that you bought at peak. It's pretty clear you have this obsession to prove those that took the opposite decision wrong.
It's also pretty clear BOTH those of you who bought at peak, denying house prices would fall, AND those stating houses would fall 50%, have NOT been right. BOTH have lost out.
But you insist on finding any way possible, linking up to threads on severl forums, to show us that someone else is actually, by your theory worse off than you.
This isn't about them. It's about you. You want to feel you have made better decisions. You didn't, and hardly anyone did. I certainly didn't. But I made those decisions at the time....if I had thought this volitility was just around the corner, I of course, wouldn't have made those decisions. You can call me all kinds of doom names, but I didn't think it would hit this quick and hit the stocks I invested in quite so hard. Thats life. Thats the same for you, and those you obviously don't care for...those who STR'd.
None of us are able to make any rational judgements. Not because of the state of the financials, but because of political warfare. Warfare that we haven't seen in our lifetimes (according to an analyst) which is massively influencing and distoring markets to the point none of us, from leading economists to people sat in sheds can actually make a proper decision. It's political on a country and continent level now, with the greed for votes taking over any ability to do the right thing.
One thing which is pretty clear is that you despise those who DIDN'T make a decision and held off. They were probably the wiser of the bunch. And it's quite clear why you despise them so much....given the chance, you'd now do the same.
I liek psycology. But it doesn't take any skill to read your posts in that sense. You basically write the pages of the book as you post.0 -

You're taking this a little too seriously. Its not a matter of life or death, its an internet forum. Incidentally you should be wary of taking geneer's statements of what others have done as gospel. I did indeed buy a couple of flats near peak but (not that I need to justify myself to you) I purchased them with profit from property I bought long before peak.0 -

Coming from the man who posts threads from other forums many of us don't even visit.
I tried to be rational with you. Obviously that didn't work.
But please, seriously. Stop spamming us all with this stuff. If you must, stick to one thread.0 -

People who start two threads on the same subject bore meJonny, please stop posting drivel from the BBC. I know where to find it if I want to read it thanks.
Ah bless.
I think I may have touched a little nerve then?
Have you realised that you've become a tad obsessed? Are you a bit embarassed?0 -

Not at all. You celebrating interest rate drops is probably to some as offensive as me posting from other sites. Well done you for taking out a mortgage.0 -
I used to think geneer thrashed around on the hook when he was losing, but now I see how your thrashing is remarkably similar.
No wonder geneer vs "the ex HPC gang" is such a serious matter.
It's been going on for YEARS and either side would sooner cut off their hands than admit ONE SINGLE concession to the other being right and themselves wrong about ANYTHING.0 -

Sorry Jonny, lost me on that one. What do you want me to admit?0 -

Nothing. Nothing at all. I'll not be dragged into your silly games*
Can't you go and fill up geneers in box or something more valuable?
Great thread by the way. I should imagine you're delighted with the chorus of agreement so far?
*except on terms which may occasionally suit me.0 -
What a pile of boll0cks this thread is."The problem with quotes on the internet is that you never know whether they are genuine or not" -
