You're taking this a little too seriously. Its not a matter of life or death, its an internet forum. Incidentally you should be wary of taking geneer's statements of what others have done as gospel. I did indeed buy a couple of flats near peak but (not that I need to justify myself to you) I purchased them with profit from property I bought long before peak.

Of course. And because its "profit" it doesn't actually count as money yes?

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Theres a lot of cross eyed fall back positions on this forum. But that one may well win the prize.

Yes, and seriously....how many times have you told us?

You have hindsight. Well done. But you didn't do too well either. I'm not knocking you for that, my shares have been wiped out to the tune of around 60% down now, so I'm not laughing at anyone, and neither am going to pretend it's great that I'm 60% down as I can buy cheaper now, and lose some more over the next few weeks.

It's pretty clear that you bought at peak. It's pretty clear you have this obsession to prove those that took the opposite decision wrong.

It's also pretty clear BOTH those of you who bought at peak, denying house prices would fall, AND those stating houses would fall 50%, have NOT been right. BOTH have lost out.

But you insist on finding any way possible, linking up to threads on severl forums, to show us that someone else is actually, by your theory worse off than you.

This isn't about them. It's about you. You want to feel you have made better decisions. You didn't, and hardly anyone did. I certainly didn't. But I made those decisions at the time....if I had thought this volitility was just around the corner, I of course, wouldn't have made those decisions. You can call me all kinds of doom names, but I didn't think it would hit this quick and hit the stocks I invested in quite so hard. Thats life. Thats the same for you, and those you obviously don't care for...those who STR'd.

None of us are able to make any rational judgements. Not because of the state of the financials, but because of political warfare. Warfare that we haven't seen in our lifetimes (according to an analyst) which is massively influencing and distoring markets to the point none of us, from leading economists to people sat in sheds can actually make a proper decision. It's political on a country and continent level now, with the greed for votes taking over any ability to do the right thing.

One thing which is pretty clear is that you despise those who DIDN'T make a decision and held off. They were probably the wiser of the bunch. And it's quite clear why you despise them so much....given the chance, you'd now do the same.

I liek psycology. But it doesn't take any skill to read your posts in that sense. You basically write the pages of the book as you post.

    Very well said.

I don't view all of them.

Yeah right.Your sermons about how you hate to see such unpleasantness fools no-one. You can't get enough of this type of thread.

Oh dear Graham, not a "thank you" that many of us would wish for (a bit like Fred West complimenting you on your parenting skills).

Geneer, lovin' that you posted this over on Cc showing a view count of 244. That would have made it the 10th most popular topic on their front page out of 25!

I see you had to reply to your own post to make the reply count next to nothing. ;)

Hello Ccers by the way - VERY quiet over there now (maybe its the kind of forum that Graham and Jonny would like).

"When I sold up in the UK in 2006 I sold a 4 bed detatched for £250k 50 miles from London. That same house sold last year for 233k. When similar houses are selling for 175k I will buy back into the UK market. That time is fast approaching".

I think he is a tad optimistic. ;)

Funny how many of those STR gamblers claim to have sold at or near the top of the market.

I see that one of HPC's founders started to STR in 2003. I wonder how that worked out for him

Last HPC quote out of the protected area - Jonathan Davis sold to rent in 2002. He's now a celebrity (although more in the Eddie the Eagle than the David Walliams mode).

Yes and? Do you have a point?

You trying to tell me I'm bitter because Pimpernel posts links to HPC?

Righty-o. This is all about yourselves. Look at you both. Look at your signatures. It's one big obsession which you choose to litter our forum with. And it's nothing to do with this forum.
That's why they got banned from several other sites, for the constant & boring circular arguments.
