If someone is reported for "fraud", then it is looked into.

If nothing seems to happen, then it's usually that the "reporter" didn't know the full facts, and those that looked into it, did.

To be honest, so many of these reports are malicious and a tool for revenge, which means the system gets bogged down in looking at nonsense allegations, which can mean the real fraudsters get away with it.

To anyone wrongly accused of fraud, it can be incredibly worrying and stressful - why should an innocent person be subjected to possible suspension of benefit and maybe an interview under caution, because someone reports them not knowing the full story or who wants a bit of "own back"?

...and think that anyone reporting "fraud" should be compelled to give their details to whoever they are making the report to.

After all, if they are making what they think is a genuine allegation, then they have nothing to fear from standing up and being counted, do they?

    Excellent post.

Thank you - from when I worked at the DWP, the first "allegation" was looked into, but if it proved to be mistaken, malicious or foundless, then subsequent allegations were filed under "R" for rubbish...........

You would be amaezed at how many false or mistaken allegations are made - based purely on whether the "reporter" thought someone looked disabled, (with layman knowledge like this, makes me wonder why we bother with doctors.....:rotfl: ) to what the "reporter" thought they should be doing in their leisure time - and so it goes on - some feel that if you are disabled, then you really should just sit there and wait for God........:rotfl: )

Then, of course, we have the ex's, neighbours, in-laws, ex-friends, and the envious.......

That is why, despite all the hype and hoo-ha of these reporting lines, they cost far more than has ever been recovered.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

hello quick update ex just been taken to hospital took his months tabs n a bottle of vodka. Do you know im ready for the interview now. gonna give them a taste of reality. Did feel guilty yesterday but I now know I didn't fail him they did now he feels bullied by the system. Be sure you know your facts before you report or you could be guilty of pushing a vulnerable person over the edge.

I am sorry to hear your sad news hope both of you will be ok

Thanks for concern. I'm emotianally drained but ok and still smiling (just) Andy's been transferred to the secure mental unit for his own safety. Which is good maybe this time they may help him. Bless him there but for the grace of god. Hate to admitt it but I'm now taking a solicitor with me. I fought all the battles I can. Where I was moved from 3 months ago was cause drug dealers made my life hell because I stood up to them, I then made an official complaint against the police beacuse they didn't do anything and allowed harrasement and my daughter to be threatened my property trashed, they only put a panic alarm in when RIP was put all over my childrens beds. I then had to complain again after the tactical unit waited up the road and pulled me up every day when I took children to school. He was warned.I then battled the council to move me as one particular council official took exception to the fact I critiscised him in the newspaper for not doing his job, he used to be head of council tax fraud dept HMMMM before he dealt with anti social behavior. ( his present position) He told me I should understand why the neighbours hated me because Im too vocal, I should ignore what goes on and try to fit in. I'm sorry but if someone is blatantly dealing outside my home I will tell them to move. I now think it's a mixture between ex neighbours and council official as he told me he thought it was strange me and Andy were still close. I understand what the person wh said they can't prove you haven't done anything wrong if your innocent but thats not always so. There's alot of innocent people in prison that would disagree. Someone else can fight this battle for me. I also agree if you are going to report you should have to give your name. It would stop alot of false reports. xx
