Will be interesting to see how it works out - my guess is somewhere down the line consumers will lose out and the store will gain though.0

It has been stated that clubcard points are reverting to £1-1 point to cover the cost of The Big Price Drop.
The Big Price Drop is to 'help cash strapped households'.
So what do they do, this company that makes record billions of profit? Ask you the customer to fund it by way of less clubcard points whilst maintaining their own vast profits.
So now whist saving a matter of pence on your weekly shop, because lets face it that's all it will be, they are taking away the chance of having a day or meal out that you get with the points. Something that gives some people their only chance of enjoyment in these trying times.
Thanks Tesco.0 -
yes - i was at pains to be clear...references the fact Icould go and top up £200 and use it for £600 of holidays - and I was told this was fine
yes seemed to good to be true
but this year I had a £1200 holiday with siblue, on the basis of free points (it was 4 x for reward then) - things like £3.59 for 4 beers with 100 points....or £1.99 for 50 points, which basically meant I bought stuff for a few p more than I would normally and got a free holiday
my complaint isnt the fact you cant top up and triple, ITS that I was mislead. I spoke to the customer service area in clubcard and was misinofrmed,. and they now have my money earning interest
i belive the intentionally misled0 -

Thanks Tesco.
Not all customers use a clubcard, so surely tesco are allowing a greater percentage of the population to save money, rather than keeping it to the exclusive group of clubcard holders?
Lets face it, Tesco have 30.7% of the market, and they have that many people shopping there for a reason. Because they are the best option available for them.0 -
It's all about regaining market share and retaining customers for their big Christmas grocery shopping and reducing their clubcard costs.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

It's not all good news on price drops as Tesco will also remove some multi-buy offers.
2x 500g Tesco cheddar used to be 2 for £5, now you pay more because it is a "price drop"
3x 4pint Milk was £3, now gone.
They have removed the 2x Tesco Finest fresh soups for £3 offer and appear to have put the price on their other own brand chilled soup range up as well.
Anyone seen any others?0 -
Rubbish reductions in our store, yes lots of items for £1,2,3 no BOGOFS, which as a large family we always take advantage of and stock up.
A load of hyped up rubbish reductions to tempt you in and for Mr T to fleece you yet again..:mad:0 -
Green peppers are reduced
"Green Peppers Each Class 1
Was £0.70 Now £0.63 valid from 25/9/2011 until 24/10/2011"
10% off, but only until 24th Oct, this is just for one month only.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
The other supermarkets will just match the prices and offer better Multibuys, I was in Waitrose buying 3 for 2 cereal and they still had price matched the branded ones against Tesco prices.0

Well I can't see anything in my basket that's gone down... but my milk is no longer on offer!
