I popped into my local tesco express this morning and a lot of items are reduced. However a lot of multibuys are gone. For example, 4 pints of milk are now £1.25 but they used to be £1.49 or 3 for £3 so the consumer is worse off.

No they are not, i only buy 1, 4 pint carton a week so i am better off:D

Yes I am with you on this.I would buy three so it is more expensive for me as well.

Went in there today, and can't say I am very impressed by the campaign.
Iceland milk is only £1 and Costco when I can get there is even cheaper.

Does nobody else buy the 'creamfields' milk from tesco its only £1 and is 2.27ltr not the 2ltr cartons sold for £1 at other shops

I work for tesco head office. I've got the in house information

Which one, Cheshunt, Dundee, or Cardiff?
I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard
  • Went to tescos today, posted this in another thread. From now on will be getting a lot of my stuff from Lidls and Iceland works out much cheaper.

This is a BIG con, Spoke to some staff have a cig outside and they said the price drop is nothing big and they have had loads moaning about it, Dolmio extra mushroom bolognese sauce 750grams £3.34 buy one get one free, It was before the price drop about £1.88. Who in the right mind will pay £3.34 for one jar (when not on offer)

  • i didnt notice much in there that had been reduced, i think i saved pence on fishfingers, but as others said multibuys on milk have vanished and tea bags had gone up too so i think i was worse off.

maybe there will more drops next month wen double clubcard points ends?

Seeing as the change changes don't take effect till Monday, your comments seem a bit premature. Until, you go back after that, you won't know if they are right or who knows you may be missing out!

I don't have to go back.

Every Tesco 'money saving deal' has always been a big con!

Someone may already pointed this out - but not everyone has a club card, yet they will still benefit from the loss of points for those who do. tesco say that their clubcard holders would rather have savings in store rather than once every three months. But if that is the case, why are we subsidising a price drop for people who do not have a clubcard? Why not just offer clubcard holders money off their shop every time they visit and give other people nothing at all?

Another point - these so called price drops are in some cases simply a reduction in prices of goods which were previously increased in price...
  • Okay I'm totally confused and apologise if I've posted this in the wrong place.

I'm looking at buying RAC breakdown cover, is this going to get the 4x voucher value or is it only the "days out and restaurants" http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/

I must say since this price drop thing has started I haven't seen a significant difference in my shopping bill but I'm not totally loyal to Tesco as it is.
