Is there any news as to when we are going to get full roaming with orange -T-mobile?

What I mean is that one doesn't have to wait until you lose the orange signal completely before it switches to T-mobile.

I find this very frustrating as I can be on 1 bar with orange, then lose the signal, then when T-mobile cuts in about 10 seconds later it is full strength.

I got a PAC code from t-mobile yesterday and reason I gave to leave was the slow and non-existent data speeds. Especially after 8pm when a single page cannot be opened.
Out and about in a busy train station, mobile picked up Orange signal but dreadfully slow to do anything.

    The report is inaccurate because:

    1) The national roaming agreement got switched on last year, October 6th to be precise, and not February this year.

    2) National roaming rollout was completed on 12th September this year, so how can they still be "rolling out"?

    3) Manually locking an iPhone to a network will throw up "Network Lost" error messages every so often when you travel about and in most cases will prevent the iPhone from logging back on.

I work for the damn company so I should know!

    1. That is irrelevant when the switch happened
    2. cant comment
    3. cant comment

BUT I do have SEVERE reception problems. as i said in my previous comment.......it is UTTERLY FRUSTRATING....if network is merging then they must have a clear process in place as to how to minimize the problems to customers to as low and shorter as possible not for years together.
other user comments in this thread suggests i am not the only one who have issues with the inconsistent signal and data speeds.

i dont care who you work for but the fact is that it is causing a lot of trouble to thousands of customers.

Rollout is scheduled for Q4, although is only 99% confirmed.
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂
  • I paid Orange off 4 months early to get away from them. Signal was ok some of the time but the Internet never worked! Receiving missed call texts when I have signal but the phone never rang!! My other half is with O2 and often had full signal when I had 1 bar! and even then it would go to searching

I don't believe a word that it's coming in Q4, it's obvious that both networks have hit issues in bringing them both together as one, and to be honest it also highlights obvious capacity issues since everyone I know on Orange can't always make/receive calls, delayed texts and internet speed or non existant connections.

Just because they're bringing the 2 networks togethers doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be better, they're consolidating their kit so they save money but it also means double the subscribers trying to use it.

    Thank god for Vodafone
  • the wife is currently in dispute with them as she has never ever had her advertised speed ever - might end up in court.
  • I moved to Northern Ireland last year from a very rural part of Scotland that got 3G intermitantly.

Sadly here in Northern Ireland I ahve seen the 3G symbol only a handfull of times....all on the same street in Belfast.

I use orange most of the time now as it is still faster than T mobile and has more coverage here.

Well no surprises here. T-Mobile are really quite useless in customer service, release of latest handsets and network speed.

I sometimes can’t get coverage at home on either Orange or T-M and T-M will not incorporate UMA on BlackBerrys as Orange do for home use.

The only reason I am with them is because I travel a lot and they have their unlimited worldwide data plan for £15/mth.

Contact up in 2 weeks and still no new BB 9900 released......pathetic

(1)So they've had an extra 4 months to get it up and running and it still doesn't work properly in all areas
(2)Again, if its completed 2 months ago why can customers still not get access to 3g Properly.
(3)Can see that would happen quite frequently on Orange.

The fact of the matter is, the 3G is complete and utter rubbish on Orange. Even in central London its a joke, its incredibly slow.
  • I have given up on Orange after a 2-year struggle as the coverage in our area is non-existent or extremely patchy service of ANY kind in SE or Mid-Wales. To be fair none of the providers are terribly good but O2 at least produces a coverage chart which truthfully displays the ACTUAL coverage as well as providing a good signal in these areas covered so poorly by Orange / T-Mobile.
