What's wrong with CEX - do they really care ???

I've been boycotting the place for a fair few years now. They rip people off left, right and centre and the majority of staff are rude, uneducated, ill-informed idiots. The final straw for me was when they refused to check if a game was in stock for a certain console, saying that it wasn't on that console, even when there was a guy literally stood next to me selling it to them. I ended up buying it from him for less than CEX was selling it. Ridiculous.0

Thats why when we traced our stolen stuff to CEX and told them it was there and who had sold it, they said we could have it back at the price they paid for it - and that was after three days of argueing over the phone and around six store visits - guess the stolen goods database was down that day , or maybe they didn't give a *$*$0

CEX are OK for selling things to (well, I've sold them one phone - not stolen!), but the prices are too high when you are buying - some things you may as well just buy new.0

Guess What>> ???
My order now says it's order picking has been completed (again) BUT no dispatch. Imagine if the big online entertainment retailers acted like this - they'd be bust.
Finally received an email saying they would chase up - I thought wow BUT still in limbo!!!!!
Really why would a company want to have so many people unhappy -how difficult is it to post out, I say again - it said it had stock online when I ordered.
I won't order again from them online so they have lost a customer.

They don't have a phone for customers to call so I don't know how you managed to argue on the phone to them.
They can't just take your word for it that you had the stuff stolen. CEX only deals with the police and they need a crime number. The stolen database is only for phones unfortunately.
Mamamoo, if that was your nearest few stores then fine, I don't know those. My store was good, had no problems with wages and the majority of customers weren't on drugs. Probably because my town is considered quite higher class.0 -
I've never had any problems with my local store (you can probably guess which one from my user name) - always got a fair return in credit vouchers for a lot of cheap (£1 - £3 for some of them when I bought them 3 - 5 years ago) DVDs, £70 credit voucher on one mass trade-in (got me a decent HD ready tv) and £30 credit voucher on another (I got the extended version of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Directors cut Terminator 2 and a few other DVDs I wanted - and they were in decent condition as well).Cheltenham Dude

Sorry but how much more wrong could you get. Next time check your facts before saying things as true.
There are no stolen goods or very few. When CEX buys in a phone, they check the stolen/lost database. If any one seems dodgy then they refuse to buy it. When I was working there, we called the police on so many people who attempted to sell stolen stuff. The police kept coming and checking the stock to see if there were anything stolen and only once did they find something and we gave the thief's details and banned him from the shop. CEX works hard with the police to make sure that nothing stolen goes through there.
I never ever had a problem with my wages. I got paid on time and it was never out of the till.
Most of the transactions I did in a day were people buying not selling. A lot of people did want to sell and a lot more people bought stuff. In the weeks before christmas, the stock level got really low.
A couple of customers were on drugs and a few got violent because they thought they had a right to sell their broken stuff but the majority of people were nice. When I was working there, we had a good little team and no one had problems.
Anyway to answer the OP question:
The dispatch next day is once they have finished picking the item. They do care but it can get quite busy and as shop staff are picking the item, if the shop is busy it can be a little slow. I hope you get your item soon.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0 -
My online order has gone back to 'order picking in progress' for the third time in a row with twice saying picking completed in between !!!!!
The "we care" said they were chasing it up BUT still a shambles as should have been sorted yesterday or today!!!
I should have had the merchandise by now and enjoying the items. So disappointing and a let down. My £ is in limbo too!
What are peoples experiences of CEX online orders???? I wonder if a kind of '!!!!!! Emery' is running this "comedy of errors"
( I wonder if it is left to the shops to send anything out that is over and above the online stock levels, whether it's worth their while for labour, postage and disrupting their operations and perhaps there is no enthusiasm to do so also when something is @ another shop too the logistics)

Hello,
I have placed around 60+ orders with CeX with around 10-20 (cheap 10p-£2 items each).
This happens a lot. Nearly every order does it. I have emailed the WeCare Team about this (and after searching my mail box) here is there reply:Dear Kyle,
If an order goes back to stock picking it is because one of the stores failed to source an item even though stock figures showed they had it in stock. Items can go missing or be unboxed so the store cannot send it out for you, the item therefore goes back to picking so that we can source it from another store.
If you have a large order, this can take a while to source all the items.
Regards,
Charlene

I must say, that my belief is that CeX do care, but are to short of staff and are really only getting by (on money terms).
There WeCare team have recently got new staff ( I'm in normally daily or bi-daily contact with them), but they seem to be having problems with retaining staff, probally because of the low rates.
I have,at the moment, experianced problems with the E-Commerce trading team, but normally they are the best part of CeX ltd.
A word of advice, but 'PLEASE REPLY CEX' or 'URGENT - Reply Requested' and they will normally reply quickly.
Or if you want a lighting fast reply, say that your going to trading std's and I promise you, that you will get a reply within a couple of minutes.
On the whole, a lot of work needs to be done, but even though, I think CeX would love to do it, they simply don't have the funds to do it.
(N.B: I have absoulty no connections with CeX ltd, other than my orders)Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!0 -

I think you will find that they do, or did at the time roughly four years ago. Why on earth would I say they did if they didn't? It was a central number which could put you through to the store.0
