Surely there must be a government dept we could report these parents to? Or maybe an alarm should be triggered at the registry office for anything bordering on cruelty to children or beginning with K

They could then be given a book of baby names to reselect from and there definitely wouldn't be a Hagar or a Kai in there.

Kai (or alternatively Cai) is a fairly common name in Wales. It's derived from Sir Kay who was a knight from Arthurian legend so it's been around for centuries. The name may have been hi-jacked by chavs in recent years but that doesn't make it a chav name.

On topic - our son is Joseph, named after OH's father. He is nearly 13 (son not FIL! ;)) and likes Joe but isn't keen on Joseph. OH's brother called their 2 Josephine and Joseph (Josie and Joey!) So deceased FIL is well served :rotfl:

Off Topic - Tiernsee, do I spy a fellow Chalet School fan?
I wanna be in the room where it happens
