:rotfl: They kept telling me at CS that the labels "weren't applied by Tescos, they come into us like that" but I thought it was just another DTD excuse! Yes, I wouldn't like to be doing your old job though - the first book I had to get them to call HO for the DTD which annoyed the Compliance Manager no end, you should have seen her face yesterday when I got exactly the same DTD - she refused to even speak to me! :p

By the way, does anyone know what happens to all the DTD reports? I know they have to type all the details into the computer which I'm sure they never used to do for R&R, and the Compliance Manager told me they "only have twelve misprices a week" so they must be reporting this back to the stores. I wonder if the stores get "fined" for each DTD, or just get someone from HO on their back if they get too many?
We'd better keep hunting then. I'm sure headoffice really appreciate our help;)

And the permanent scowl, yes. (Or maybe the scowl is only permanent when she sees me at CS :))
Oh there is one of those in my local store. Maybe it's their policy to have at least one real miserable one at each cs desk;)

I was looking to buy a Radio Controlled Mud Slinger car for my son (more for me really, but shhhh!) and when i arrived at Mr T in H0r$4am i noticed that the £35 sel had gone and the half price toy sale red dot sticker had been roughly ripped off. I scanned it and it scanned at £100 :( quite disappointed, i wandered upstairs to price check some galaxy bars ;) and noticed a pile of r/c racing cars, by the same manufacturer, but not the same cars, with a big A4 price of £35 and the trusty red dot half price toy sale sticker on it. Having knocked several old ladies out the way to get to the scanner as quickly as possible, it scanned at £70. Whoooop. free with DTD. b/c ends 8132 and is a New Bright invader Radio controlled off road sports buggy. Both red and black designs work. If anyone can find the mud slinger trucks by the same people (bigger scale pickup truck or land rover), then theres a £30 DTD payout to take it away as the sel is £35 and scans at £100 :)

    hth

Visited my local store and picked one of these R/C cars up - had red toy sale label, SEL @£70 but Red label at £35. Scanned at £70 through till, went to CS but CS did JTD after phoning manager, and claimed customers must be putting the red stickers on, didn't want to make big fuss so just accepted the JTD as was a birthday present for nephew anyway, and thought best to tackle it another way. :o

Dropped e-mail to HO once home that evening and they rang me next day to say should be no question and should get DTD and to go back in to store with receipt to get DTD which I did next day - not problems, very nice CS manager said HO had already rang and she would take it up with the store manager who had not done the DTD in the first place. No hassle. :T
Plus it scanning at £70 originally had meant it took my spend over £60 on my few items so got £5 off next weeks shopping and my 10p off a litre on Petrol so saved another £5 there too.;)

Result free car and £10 of savings too, plus cc points :D:j

Any problems with DTD just contract HO and they ensure the policy is honoured, and by the sounds of it the managers not doing so get a good telling off which makes it even better if they are not giving the service Ts look to give

Well the CS assistant in a store i went in to today told me you didnt get dtd on an overcharge on self service..............we will see when i send an email lol

Same thing happened to me a couple of days ago. I knew I was correct and that DTD did apply on SS tills too. Gave HO a call yesterday, who couldn't have been more helpful and contacted the store for me. They said that whenever I could get back to the store, the DTD refund would be waiting for me.
They gave me their name and ref in case of any problems, and the name of the manager they spoke with.
Curiousley, when I told HO that I had been told that DTD didn't apply, the conversation went a bit like this:

HO: 'what reason did they give for that'
Me: 'They said it was because I had used a SS till'
    HO: 'Unbelievable!'

There IS a circumstance where DTD SHOULD NOT be paid on a Self Scan "overcharge"

This is where there is a "Whoops" type reduced price sticky label on that loaf of bread, pack of eggs, joint of meat etc. that has a "Display Until" or "Use By" date that is "today" ...

AND that "Reduced" label is not 100% covering the original barcode such that it might just be mistakenly picked up by the scanner.

If you go through a normal till and it "accidentally" gets scanned at full price by a SA, then fair enough - you've been overcharged.

IF you do it yourself at a self-scan then it is quite possible that you covered the reduced label's barcode and deliberately scanned the original.

Yes you can go to CS and get a refund of the difference but not demand DTD in this case

Asda used to do exactly the same when you always got the £2 "for the inconvenience" if you had to go to CS for a refund.

From the error by a SA no problem but if you did it yourself, NO!

That of course doesn't stop you "attempting" to get a DTD on reduced items where the "Whoops" label isn't quite covering up like it should, BY ACTIVELY searching the 20 reduced loaves for the one label that IS MISPLACED :j, BUT ALWAYS get a SA to scan your shopping IF you find some. :D

    Hi,
It was not a reduced item it was something that went thru as something else, but when she scanned it it scanned as the right item, but i emptied my bag to show her that i hadnt got it and the thing i wanted was not on the reciept

Hi has anyone had a jtd on the meal deal wine today please.
  • There must be quite a big glitch on the Finest £10 meal deal. Just done my shopping and the CO assistant asked me if i had bought a meal deal. I said 'yes' and she said she would have to check if it went through. It didn't so she called over the Checkout manager who override the purchase then just charged me the £10 for it! Gutted!!:( Missed out on a great DTD. Damn efficient CO staff!!
Perhaps i was unlucky, there may be some less vigilant CO staff out there. Worth a try. I bought: Finest Pinot Grigio
    Finest Steak Pastries
    Finest Creamy Mash
    Finest Strawberry Cheesecake slices
Total without discount £14.73. Overcharge of £4.73, therefore £9.46 DTD
I hope someone can benefit from a potential meal deal for 54p on these.
