Never mind a gift card it shouldn't have been cash or back on your card! But I can see it wouldn't have been worth pursuing in that instance.

Just thought I'd let people know about another price match in the meal deal that is beneficial and it's the 1 x T FINEST ITALIANCHEESE GARLIC FOUGASSE 230G TESCO £1.99 ASDA £1.25

It's flat and about the size of a small pizza - some sort of flat garlic bread thing that looked quite nice - a lucky guess! So I ended up getting £4.03 back on the meal deal.

The chicken with lemon and herb butter was a no match, as were the strawberry cheesecake slices. Anyone found any others that are giving JTD?

Hi so what items did you buy please & when.

Well the CS assistant in a store i went in to today told me you didnt get dtd on an overcharge on self service..............we will see when i send an email lol

There IS a circumstance where DTD SHOULD NOT be paid on a Self Scan "overcharge"

This is where there is a "Whoops" type reduced price sticky label on that loaf of bread, pack of eggs, joint of meat etc. that has a "Display Until" or "Use By" date that is "today" ...

AND that "Reduced" label is not 100% covering the original barcode such that it might just be mistakenly picked up by the scanner.

If you go through a normal till and it "accidentally" gets scanned at full price by a SA, then fair enough - you've been overcharged.

IF you do it yourself at a self-scan then it is quite possible that you covered the reduced label's barcode and deliberately scanned the original.

Yes you can go to CS and get a refund of the difference but not demand DTD in this case

Asda used to do exactly the same when you always got the £2 "for the inconvenience" if you had to go to CS for a refund.

From the error by a SA no problem but if you did it yourself, NO!

That of course doesn't stop you "attempting" to get a DTD on reduced items where the "Whoops" label isn't quite covering up like it should, BY ACTIVELY searching the 20 reduced loaves for the one label that IS MISPLACED :j, BUT ALWAYS get a SA to scan your shopping IF you find some. :D

  • I'm sure that Mr T's head office would want to know if you are banned from stores for glitches, otherwise why would they offer dtd & not Jtd. Surly they do it to encourage customers to find the errors for them so they can identify their workers that make the errors in the first place??:p The way I look at it they giving Dtd is paying us to help them improve their stores. After all EVERY LITTLE HELPS;)

    Hi

I bought the finest meal deal last night, just waiting on my jtd to arrive

Sorry, can someone explain how this works? I saw the meal deal tonight but as the licensing laws are different in Scotland, so they cant have the wine next to the food (stupid I know) . i asked a sales assiatnt what wine was included, she dragged me to the wine aisle, where there was only a small section of 2 white wines at £4.99 marked as part of the meal deal. So if i buy the £8.29 wine as part of the meal deal, and it all scans at full price, I dont have any comeback?? Sorry again but would really appreciate help here.

I have been refused DTD on self scan before so quick call to Customer service sorted that out. But as it was for £65 I had to go back into the store and get my money put back on my card which was not plesant. They must of asked me 100 times why i didnt notice the price when it scanned but I had a crying newborn and toddler with me testing my patience.
    Happy days

I got these on Tues night and JTD back yesterday. I got the items I mentioned plus the Montepulciano D'Abruzzo wine that has already been mentioned.

The problem I have is that I only have one store close to me, the rest are all more than five miles away. Luckily this store is great for DTD - literally, you have your choice over what DTD items you want to get.

Because of this, and hearing that people have been banned before, I went in all guns blazing at the start and made a massive fuss about all the overcharges, got HO on the store managers back, etc. etc. Because of this now they seem to be content to give me DTD easily if I don't make much of a fuss (apart from a particularily sour-faced "Compliance Manager" will stand at CS and say that the incorrect SEL isn't misleading, e.g. £2 off stickered price means the £2 is already taken off the price on the sticker... bizarre!).

It may not work for everyone but it works for me (saying that I will probably be banned tomorrow :))

Two more misprices today, not great ones though.

Energiser Ultra+ batteries clipstrips, marked as £3.25/2for£4 on clipstrips, scanned through at £6.50 for £1.50 after DTD.

Also all the yellow SELs for books had gone but there were plenty which still had the £2 off sticker price red label on, label has expiry of 1/Feb. £4 DTD on them all, from what I could see (this is the second time I have got this DTD, they keep putting out more books).

Hi Obukit, I used to be the book merchandiser in D1dcot, I worked for an outside company and left in october. We had memos to remove the stickers as it was our responsibility. I bet my ex boss and t`s managers are spitting feathers over the new merchandiser ! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::T

:rotfl: They kept telling me at CS that the labels "weren't applied by Tescos, they come into us like that" but I thought it was just another DTD excuse! Yes, I wouldn't like to be doing your old job though - the first book I had to get them to call HO for the DTD which annoyed the Compliance Manager no end, you should have seen her face yesterday when I got exactly the same DTD - she refused to even speak to me! :p

By the way, does anyone know what happens to all the DTD reports? I know they have to type all the details into the computer which I'm sure they never used to do for R&R, and the Compliance Manager told me they "only have twelve misprices a week" so they must be reporting this back to the stores. I wonder if the stores get "fined" for each DTD, or just get someone from HO on their back if they get too many?

I am glad I dont do it anymore but as I did my job properly they had no probs when I worked there ;)

Which Manager ? The blonde one in hi heels and skirt ?

And the permanent scowl, yes. (Or maybe the scowl is only permanent when she sees me at CS :))
