I walk up the till isle and check out each assistant, if theres one smiling and chatting to the customer (and shes not very close to the supervisor station I go there, then I know I can make conversation while they are scanning!
Yeah, I do this too, I also look out for the really young SA's young lads are the best cos they prob live at home with mummy and have no idea how much things are supposed to cost

I agree, only 1 store near me has scanners and it has the least bargains , how unsporting of them
.
Well I've just discovered that one of the scanners has been fixed in my local. For months I've been wandering up to the clothing section as the others were broken.
In the confectionary aisle today found some more of the Thornton's chocolates which had been scanning at £2. Just thought I'd try the scanner on the off chance. Had to move a small display to get to it but it's been fixed.:T
I'm still not convinced it's a good idea being able to check prices so easily right next to all the chocolate :eek:0 -
Just got back from Mr T Towc3est3r. None of the current mis-prices available but got lucky with the timing and got some great discounts and discovered another error which may well be repeated elsewhere.
The breads and pastries were all reduced to 10p and 20p as well as custards and creams reduced from £1.90 to 10p. However, most of the discount labels had not been placed over the original labels properly. I bought 8 of these pastry packs (all with mis-aligned discount bar codes) and sure enough the SA scanned 2 of them at the original price. Total overcharge of £2.70 and a dtd £5.40 refund ensued. Result!
Worth looking for mis-aligned discount bar codes all the time I would suggest.0 -
Got some Andrex on the go for 1p each and a demister pad for 25p in Wark today.
Went thro the self scan machine and put one Andrex through in between other items so as not to be obvious.0 -
