Just bought some Toy Story 3 Marbz for 10p a pack from W@ls@1l store. Fun to open!
Also had some of those 3p party handbag things, both boys and girls.
Lego Hogwarts Castle is reduced to £77 wish I could afford it!
Loads and loads of fresh cream reduced to 2p a pot, hoped the 2 for £3 offer would come into effect, but not so lucky!people were walking out with trays of the stuff,I only got 4 haha!great to go in freezer.
Couldn't see any of the Andrex clip strips.0 -
hi just looked and they are called ty beanie boo's / big eyes......hth, lots of different ones, think girl had a rabbit to scan first.
Will pop up later and try them. I hope they're that price in the superstore as they've got loads.0 -
Hi can I just ask if any of you have ever had trouble purchasing your 1p finds? The only reason I ask is because in my local extra the other day the till assistant was questioning an item going through at 9p (not mine I was eavesdropping on the customer in front of me) and the supervisor said it was fine to sell at that price it was only items that go through at 1p they are not allowed to sell.
Some stores don't like to sell the 1p items to customers it seems to depend on the SA on the till but most of us go through the self service till when we're buying these. I remember trying to speed my way through when I found a 1p hamster cage, couldn't hit total and pay fast enough because once you've paid they can't take it off you :rotfl:SPC #329 £471/£500 banked
SPC 2014 £1100:D

I went into my local extra store R£*ruth and spent well over an hour and a half looking at/for all the items mentioned on here and couldn't find a thing.
Has anyone got any tips for me please?
I did end up calling a member of staff over to the kids frubes though as the whole shelf was out of date on or before the 18th Dec. to which I was told that they were "too short staffed to sort things like that" so maybe not changing prices sel etc at the mo.?
Thanks in advance for any tips advice
Thats disgusting. Ok to not change SELs but out of date food not cleared from shelves. What would have happened if these had been given to a small child (who they are aimed at) and they got ill! I would be contacting HO.I say "THANKS" to posts that make me smile - Oh and really good glitches.:j

I always tend to go through self service and try and 'mix' a few bits. I also try and weigh up if the SS assistant is interested or not. It is easiest in my local one funnily enough, even though they know me, as I know what I am doing, they dont tend to look.
This morning I got a few bits and some more 15p illooms, mixed in 4 1p finds with them. As the lad was not at all interested, I went back at got 12 packs of the 1p vege crisps. Put the lot through SS no problem.
If you really want something, hide a few away somewhere in the store behind boxes on shelf (washing powder aisle is a good one) then you could go back a get a few at a time when it is a bit busier. At least, move the items in case you are 'trouted' then when they go to remove the remainder, they wont find any!
The busier the self service is, the better, Good luck.0 -

Ive never tried to go through SS with 1p items, Im not very good with machines and tend to need the assistant when ever I use them in Mossies!
I walk up the till isle and check out each assistant, if theres one smiling and chatting to the customer (and shes not very close to the supervisor station I go there, then I know I can make conversation while they are scanning!
Having said that Ive not found many 1p things at our store. Only a few 1p trays and OEPs, thats about my limit:o
...oh and I think I might have found someones smartie tube stash once too!0 -
do you have the barcode for the toy story marbz and the party handbags pls just the last 4 digits of each would be a real help to people on here thanx
Hi, didn't buy the party bags, they have been mentioned previously though. It's a light pink or blue bag,in the shape of a handbag, contains a whistle, stickers and other things.
The Marx barcode is 5029310 631969,it's in a bag a bit larger than a Lego minifig bag,has an offer on front to win a holiday ending 31/12/10 which made me wonder if they would be reduced0 -

I've never found any 1p items yet and our store no longer has any scanners so bargains are just by chance.0 -

This time last year I was sold out of date BABY FORMULA:eek:, and had already given a couple of cartons to my 5 day old baby:eek::eek::eek:! Caused such a fuss when I noticed the date. HO sent me out a £50 giftcard and as a regular in that store I was asked if baby was ok!!!!0
