I found some today thanks to a tip from another MSEer - I think it was Minxz?

On the very top shelf, in an open box - it was a folded up clip strip which from the ground just looked like a box of Splenda packets (100, dark brown, yellow card) but on closer inspection they were all attached to a folded strip.

I took the box down and took the whole strip.

My dad is the only person I know who uses them so shall give one to each house in the family he visits and the rest to him.

yep :D

I only took a few, as I'm the only one who uses them, so takes ages to get through one pack... good you found them!

I bought a laptop in Tesco Extra today and have just found the same model in Tesco online at £20 cheaper. Would I be able to claim the difference?

Dont believe so im afraid, you could order it online (using quidco) and then return the first one (if its not been opened/used) to store but its probably not worth the hassle for £20

• just picked up a few of these in Mr T. SEL says 40p but scanning at £3.97. Cust Serv didnt want to give refund as said it was diff product with diff barcode but called over lady from toys after i hummed and harred who said yes it is the same toy just the 'new' ones in. Their fault for not checking :) but im £21 better off now. Not sure if other stores still have the old SEL up but worth a try.

mingles still scanning for 1.01 in whitehaven store if it helps anyone>
• Hi all,

Thank you for responding regarding the Haribo and Malteser Bucket offer.

This morning not long after posting on here I drove to my local Tesco Extra to try the Old El Paso 3-2 for offer and also get some Mingles. I managed to get three packets of Mingles for 1.01 each - very pleased I was and got double the difference back on the Old El Paso 3-2 offer as the SEL stated "or dinner kits".

After getting back to the car I wished I had got more Old El Paso kits as we love mexican but rather than go back and try my luck again I drove to another nearby Tesco, this time picking up 9 kits. Went through self service and bingo, the third item was not free. Queued at customer service and then pointed out the error to the assistant who went off to check. She informed me that the yellow label wasnt under the dinner kits so therefore they werent in the offer. I told her "but it clearly states - or dinner kits". She then became very rude, telling me that the dinner kits were NOT included. I asked her to please not be rude and to get me the manager. Along came someone else who was clearly not a manager (was told manager unavailable). She then agreed with me that SEL was "confusing" and that due to the error she was willing to honour the deal of 3for 2 on the dinner kits. I then said and also double the difference as I have been overcharaged. She then said I cant do that as really Im honouring this as a good will gesture. I said but your policy for overcharging is double the difference back? She again said she could not do this. All this took place mid aisle in a packed store. I then asked for both their names, customer services number and also a full refund on the dinner kits. Where can I go from here. I was furious. Not at not getting the glitch but more being told that the would not honour their policy, being spoken to so rudely in the middle of the store. All this despite being told their own advertising via the SEL was confusing and dare I say misleading!!! Thoughts please.

Cheers

Phone customer services like i did and say you are a bit upset/dissapointed and embarrassed that you were dealt with like this after shopping with tesco for many years, say that you can understand staff are under pressure this time of the year but you felt the need to phone up and make you aware of the problem you had :)
My wording isn't the best but I'm sure you will able to get the point across to them and they will give you did and a £10 goodwill voucher i reckon :)
Get Appletv2 & XBMC in and thank me later
• New to this but love reading all the tips! I haven't used any DTD yet but plan too. Really annoyed at the amount of times I have been overcharged and not known about DTD. Can you only claim it if you actually pay at the overcharged price? As in, if it doesn't go through properly at the till, and you tell the checkout assistant before you pay - you can't then say oh i thought you have a DTD policy?

The mingles offer isn't scanning cheap at my local store in C@rnf0rth.. gutted as my family love them!

I wouldn't even bother with phoning customer services, I would email the CEO's office directly: philip.clarke@uk.tesco.com I think in an email you can express how cross you were, how you, the customer, were treated in a busy shopping aisle, when you were completely in the right, having to ask for what is Tesco corporate policy (dtd) and being refused and treated in a totally unacceptable manner. I dont think a £10 gift card from CS would cut it for me. A clear case of store retraining and customer service is in order, you may like to suggest that in your email. HTH
