  • Its great when you manage to find a deal, there are some lovely people on here who share brilliant deals. I,m always on the lookout for glitches now.:p

    Yes, I'm so grateful. :)
I wonder if there is any knack to spotting these deals? I went round pulling allsorts of strips and picking up anything that didn't have a label in front of it today to see if I could find bargains or better still 1p deals ;) but didn't - think the sa thought I was mad when went through ss till and she had to keep coming back for me to canx stuff off!

Hi, first post on here - and first arguement with store manager too!
Just got back from Tesco Am3sbury, So1tice P4rk - put 3 Old el paso through on self service till as the yellow label was still on the shelf saying '3 fo 2 on any Old El Paso and dinner kits'. The dinner kits were on the shelf below, but with a white label. Got charged 8.91 for 3 fahita dinner kits, so went straight to customer service. I went with assistant to the shelf where she had a good look, removed the yellow label and stated that as the dinner kits ad a white label they weren't in the offer any more, but just the taco shells, where the label was, were. I said 'well, it states Dinner Kits are in the offer, so she said will have to call the duty manager. When he came he said the same that as the dinner kits have a white label, they are not in the offer, but would refund me and put them through again as a 3 for 2. At this point I drew their attention to the DTD promise. Oooooh, he wasn't having that, they hadn't overcharged me! Err, yes you have I said, I just paid 9.00 for 3, should have been charged 6.00, due 6.00 back. we went back and forth on this arguement a couple more times, ending with me pointing to the shelf label saying 'dinner kits' in the offer and then demanding a pen to take the duty manager's name toi report to head office. I took a full refund, but am not happy with this, as through their own fault I was overcharged (not according to the manager though). Can anyone point me in the right direction to lodge a complaint please? Sorry for the essay as I'm sure you've heard it all before! Many thanks for listening!

Almost exactly the same as my experience yesterday! The Duty Manager couldn't get his head around the fact that the offer labels clearly stated that Dinner Kits were in the offer (he was a completed doofer and it didn't help that he was dressed up in a frilly white Christmas Fairy dress complete with wings!). I've reported it to Customer Service HQ but they haven't got back to me yet.

Thank you to posters on this thread :)

In b+r00k1ands today the OEP wasn't working, nor the Hula Hoops, and no Mingles anywhere... shame, as i have actually been looking for some as a present anyway!
I did get a small bargain though, the Slenda sweeteners, 100 packs, had been moved to sit on top of the shelves ( almost hidden) so i took 3 to try.. and they went though at 1p each :D

    Thank you!

  • The koko chocs are still in the bat#ey extra scanning at 1.01 and there was many left. No mingles, tea, nuts or lucozade shots

Might pop out this lunchtime for a look around Mr T's anything new worth looking out for today folks?

    A glitch is a short-lived fault in a system
  • I was wondering, with all these glitches etc, do you think Tesco ever follow it up by tracking you through your bank card and clubcard? Would they be allowed to do this or would it be a breach of confidentiality?

Although technically we have done nothing wrong apart from take advantage of their mistake, its not stealing or fraud or anything is it?

    What are everyones thoughts ?

I can't see Tesco being bothered following up the glitches, if they did and it hit the press, wouldn't it just highlight how many errors they still make.

I cant fathom out though what takes the price of some things down to 1p - if it is discontinued stock, why dont they just reduce it by 50% and sell it off?

The 1p finds are great, but in the grand scheme of things they are small fry to Tesco, but a lot of fun for MSE peeps ...

Nothing they can do it's there own daft fault .. worst thing that can happen @ a tesco is get asked to leave the store and not to return they have the rite to refuse you entry into the shop ( I have actually had this a few years back in a non local to me tesco!)

If I am buying lots of 1p items, or a glitch I pay cash and don't use my Clubcard. I might be over cautious, but better to keep a low profile I think!
