Tesco misprices and discussion (Thread 12)

Morning! I've been pointed in the direction of this site by someone who thought it could be right up my street! As a complete newbie - can I ask a few questions? Might seem obvious to those who've been here for a bit - so sorry!
- how do we get wind of the pricing bloopers? is it just eagle eyed shoppers spotting them and posting them?
- i've seen a few comments of peoples where they scan them to find out if they are subject to the amazing offers - is this by running them through at the tills?
This makes me mad though - the number of times I have bought something at my Tesco and going through the tills I have spotted the they were about to charge me more - so I have told the operator - had I known about the double the difference promise, I would have kept my big mouth shut and gone to CS and challenged their promise. I was interested to see someones experience with CS where they were threatened with banning and accused of fraud - how very dare CS! As customers its our job to take advantage of the amazing offers that the chain offer us...... they encourage us to multi buy to save money (and be in no doubt - make them HUGE profits) so should we spot an offer thats too good to miss, then why the heck shouldnt we multi buy??? Whether its 3 of them or 300. They are delighted if we buy 300 under virtually ever other circumstance so how on earth can they object if we spot an unmissable
The experience of that shopper has made me determined to now seek out "offers" and make sure everyone is able to benefit from them - after all I spend a fortune at Tescos and feel aggrieved to have people shafted by them!!!0 -

Hi and welcome!
I'm quite new too but as far as I know people find the errors instore and post them on here themselves, then others can see if it works in their store and report back.
Many stores have price check machines dotted about the store that customers can use to check prices before paying...you can ask in store or have a search around the threads here to see where they are.
You can use the self-service till to scan if you don't have a price check machine/scanner instore but bear in mind you may have to get a staff member to cancel the transaction....much easier to find an instore scanner!
Takes time to get your head around everything but it's well worth it!
HTH;)Learn from the past, enjoy and appreciate the present and work to make your future the best it can possibly be
And get lots of glitches!0 -

No price check machines in mine I always self scan (usually put the trolley around the corner) quickly scan the item I want to check and walk off either putting the item in the trolley or on the shelf if not *glitch price ... NEVER bother asking staff to cancel it .. just gotta be sneaky and quick
A glitch is a short-lived fault in a system0 -

There is a thread on here for price scanner locations

Not sure how up to date it is though - it's always worth a trudge around the store yourself even if staff say there isn't a scanner, staff tend to work in particular sections and don't always know so much about the rest of the shop.
