How does this work please, I must have missed it? Is the Zinfandel reduced at Asda on a single bottle.? I can only see a 3 for £10 offer.:) Or am I being thick(again)?

Does it work on the rose one?
  • got my first 1p item yesterday, harry hill salted peanuts, then almost lost them i went thro self service and had also scanned dorrmans nuts and CDM which both went thro at full price so i wanted to cancel them off, the checkout man came over to cancel them for me and noticed the 1p nuts and said ooo i dont think we can sell these to u, acted all inicent said i thought they were labbeled up at that he contacted his supervisor, it took what seemed like ages and i was told that i could have the 4 packets that i had but he was going to have to remove the rest of the stock and where had i found them, told hm where but didnt tell him id taken the last 4 pkts! lol.

did a good dead for the day as well, was waiting at customer services and the bloke in front of me had been over charged on wine, i didnt get a great look at the bottle but it was red cabernat sauvingne (sorry spelling) that he had been overcharged by £5.50 per bottle it sounded like they had scanned at £10 the cs lady apologised and worked out how much he should be refunded,on his 12 bottles! and the man asked her if they still double up the difference and she said no we dont!!!! queue me jumping in with yes you do it sais so on your sign, and pointed to the "if things dont add up" HaHA! so the bloke had his wine for free and got paid 50p a bottle to take it away, he thanked me and joked that he owed me and i said yeah you could give me a bottle ;) tho he lauge=hed and walked away :( sorry i couldnt get more info on the wine but mite be worth having a scout about that section for any better than half prce

What I do is self scan the items Im not sure about (noting the prices) then quickly put all the items back in my trolley & then walk off quickly before the machine starts complaining

Admittedly it might irritate the self scan supervisor but Ive walked away before they are able to have a go at me ;) - it only takes them a few seconds to reset the machine so its no big deal

Its there own fault for not having a working customer price check scanner anyhow !

Obviously the odd item can be checked at the customer service desk as long as the price isn't ridiculous like 1p

With these reduced items Ive found if the reduction is actually displayed on the SEL then the shelf is almost always empty - I found that out to my deteriment when I told customer services about the wholewheat penne labelled at 89p but scanning at 22p - next week the label had been updated & the shelf was bare (so wont be doing that again !)

  • Was the 25% off wine at Tescos meant to come off all wines? I bought 6 x Cono sir in the week and only got 5% off. Thanks to op for the info on the price - it was very pleasant on the taste buds!
