Hi, with regards to DTD, how do you explain/get over the embarrasment or whatever it is, of explaining to an SA the simple fact of paying more for the item at the till than you know it costs. If I get to the till with a £10 item how can I offer an explanation of why I simply handed over £30 for it? I understand it would be easy to do with a lot of small shopping items, but I don't see how it can be explained when it's only one or two items. I've already received verbal abuse from staff for getting my first DTD several weeks back so am very reluctant to try it again!
They are the ones who should be embarrassed. Verbal abuse should be reported to the manager and then head office if necessary. If the price is wrong, its wrong.
No need to elaborate or worry about it. DTD is their policy, however many items, Customers Services job is to apply it.
e.g. "I just noticed I've been overcharged for this item, can you please check it for me", or "I think the price I was charged is wrong".
I had to claim for the first time this week as they were not applying discounts of 3 for 2 on baking items. They tried to tell me the offer didn't exist because the shelves were not marked, but I pointed out the large signs and the fact that I had checked with a member of staff beforehand. They apologised and happily refunded the money. It took an inordinate amount of time though.0 -
I'd complain about that!

I'm English and my first reaction is always to apologise when it's someone else's fault - But overcharge is THEIR fault and they should be embarrassed about the number of overcharged customers who haven't noticed or who have noticed and been too shy or short of time to complain - DTD is Tesco paying you compensation so you don't shop them for mispricing so don't get embarrased:TYou never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
Looking at Tesco online for cider, I have noticed a 'good offer'
Magners Irish Cider £1.98 each or 2 for £5.00
Does anyone know any way to use this to my advantage?

You weren't paid £2.00 to take them away, as you paid £2.00 in the first place and was refunded £2.00.
But free is still very well done.... any pics?0
