Get it up to boiling, then shove it in on gas four and forget about it. It always works for me, anyway. (until I got an electric oven built in the new house and it's been confusion ever since :))

  • Good afternoon :D
I managed to get the kitchen S&S'd, washing up done, DW emptied & reloaded & ironed DS a shirt before the school run this morning.
I was going to iron last night, but I was finishing off my accounts. I just needed to tie up a few loose ends today (find receipt for laptop) and then I am done :j And it's not even the end of September :p (I am normally battling to meet the 31st January deadline :o) I haven't actually done my tax return, but that shouldn't take long. I can now complete my form for Student finance :)

2 childminder friends came round this morning to play :) I had 5 kiddies here aged from 5 months to 3. They all played really well :D I have picked up all the toys now, but won't bother hoovering until after the boys go home tonight. As well as tidying the toys, I have had lunch, and put 1 load in the WM. I have also sorted through 2 old handbags in the search of receipts - and managed to throw away a bin full!!

i feel i could have a little snooze now, but i think I have run out of time :(

Hugs & spoons to those that need them

Waited 50 minutes for the bus with Minion today (supposed to be every 12 mins). Still no sign by 20 past 8, by which time she would have been incredibly late (after the journey and the walk uphill, roughly 90minutes late) and as she was in quite a bit of pain from physio and swimming yesterday, (and she has RE, PE and PSHEEEEeeeeeeeeee) I broke the habit of a lifetime and said she could stay at home.

Went shopping and had a major OS shop at Mr T because I had an £8 voucher, a £2 voucher and a £10 giftcard. Then at the till, the assistant accepted every single coupon I possessed in my purse (I hadn't bought a single thing they were for), so £55 worth of food came in at £17.50 :D

Then I had to heft it all home on the bus unassisted :(

Came in, reorganised fridge to take Mr T's bounty and defrosted, cleaned and reloaded mini freezer because I picked up a chicken for Sunday on the basis of the lowest price, not the longest date. After cleaning and drying the freezer, I had a thought - as oil is hydrophilic, surely if I coated the inside of the freezer with a tiny amount of cooking oil, this should make the thing less likely to ice up again? So I've tried this and await the results from my experiment  [this is where everyone else chips in with 'we do that already - didn't you know?']

Minion managed to sort out cleaning and filling the fruit bowl. She looks really rough, actually, nearly falling asleep on the lion throw on the sofa with the heavily camouflaged tortie splat. Hopefully she's going to take a painkiller next time I suggest it. And yes, LW, those throws weigh a ton, don't they?

I need to unload the DW, push the vacuum cleaner around downstairs and chuck some bleach around, then I think it will be time for a super duper lasagne for Minion. A real, homemade one. I'm a right soft touch sometimes.

Euronorris - the wardrobes are fitted and full to bursting!

I have found a home for the suitcases. In the understairs cupboard right at the back under the shelf. I russian dolled them and it looks really neat. I never put anything there because it's just too deep. I feel very pleased with myself.

I've done 3 more loads of washing and have done a big shop at Mr T remembering to use my coupons. I didn't do as well as Jo-Jo but I did use the 3 x points coupon so 450 points for me:D. Total monetary savings were 12quid on at 150quid spend. There's no pound sign on this laptop btw!

Got the girls coming round after work tomorrow to hear all the wedding gossip and aggro so had better get on with my flying!
