and I suppose you're one of these people that think I and the rest of the staff get a share of all these profits?
What is with all the hating of shop workers on this website.

I don't hate anyone, least of all those who work at Tesco.

But don't come on here, saying that Tesco can't afford something.

They can afford to do anything they want, and more often than not do!

I don't know if you get a share of profits (don't Tesco have a staff share scheme?) but managers do, and they instill things on the staff.

I have worked for many companied like this, even s/markets so know what you have to do on a daily basis.

Every department is short staffed because tesco say they haven't got the money to take on any more staff. And if there was enough staff then there wouldn't be incorrect labels on the shelves. How do you expect 2 staff members (sometimes 1!) to do 1500 labels or more on a monday and wednesday, other days about 700 per day, do the POS brochure and all the other stuff that goes on behind the scenes? It is just impossible. If tesco got more staff on these legal departments like mine then they would reduce the number of DTD's and save themselves money.

Not being funny but in one of your posts you put all T's problems down to DTD, basically with T's humungous profits they could quite easily afford more staff, they just choose not to;) A case, in my opinio,n of rapid expansion to quickly, there is an Express, Extra or Metro store on most high streets. If they want to take over the world they should have the staff in place to work it;)
    Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:
  • sounds cool :D- do you need a 1st class honours degree to do the legal stuff or do they have instore trainers :j and I don't mean the F&F kiddie trainers:p
are you trying to imply I have no brains because I work for tesco?? and I don't work on clothing so why the F&F reference?

I don't remember saying tesco couldn't afford something. I was saying it's dishonest and bad people go in there to take money from supermarkets.
  • most of them do get a share and also the opportunity to buy cheap Tesco shares in various schemes - you need to ask someone about it if you are missing out

    btq we love Tescos:T
I buy shares every month. I also had shares in success, which isn't much but the GP think we make a fortune from tesco.

Laura, no one on here hates shop workers, please don't take it personally, it's just that if you want to stick up for T's you really need a strong and valid argument. Everyone knows that the reasons T's make so many errors is due to being short staffed, but that is down to T's and not DTD. You can't blame the customers for making your job harder as at the end of the day they are your bread and butter and without them you'd have no job.

I'm not sticking up for them! I would say the same about any shop if they had the same stupid policy as dtd.
  • but they are the point of contact for the customers to resolve the DTD or do you process them all through the legal dept instead - gee no wonder you are flat out :D
You obviously no comprende. I won't bother wasting my time trying to explain yet again.....
  • I'm going now as some of us have to be up for work at 3.20am and have got better things to do than this. The moral of the story is folks......going in to ANY shop (not just tesco) for significant personal gain is just plain wrong, immoral and dishonest. I like earning honest money for an honest hard days (or half a days) work. Over and out

laura don't forget many of us previously loyal shoppers to other supermarkets now do most of our "normal" shopping in Tesco, (not that i can remember what normal shopping is:D) I for one was previously popping into Asda several times a day but can't remember when I last shopped there since I discovered DTD lol!

Also i agree with lawrie, recently every little reduced item/bargain/sale stock is generating a new thread on the grabbit board lately whereas previously we used to put all the bits and pieces on the 1p thread. Tesco sales must have rocketed.

Surely whatever they lose on DTD is made up by getting our custom on other shopping once we are through the doors?
